Hello and welcome to Seasonal Beauty, my first mini-comp! This is a competition focusing on one thing: the seasons! This isn't a regular, full-length competition though - this competition will only have 5 assignments, along with a mock to be completed along with your submission.

Now what is the point of this comp? It will be a fun way to showcase the beauty of each season of the year! In five fun and exciting assignments you will demonstrate your skills - pros/newbies alike - by creating wonderful, seasonal pictures.

Sign-ups will be open until December 29th, you will have until then to get your mock assignment in. This comp will be non-elimination, with the exception of the mock assignment, where the number of models will be cut to 10. This will make it easier on our judges. The competition will run until the beginning of February, when we will find out who our Seasonal Beauty is!

Finale (Part 1): Four Seasons

This is your final assignment! Congrats for making it this far in the competition, you are all winners no matter how the scores go! Part 1 of the final assignment might be a bit of a challenge, I want to see a picture that incorporates elements for all four seasons: winter, spring, summer, fall. This should be a creative and beautiful picture, clearing capturing elements from each season. Good luck and have fun!

Finale (Part 2): Seasonal Fashion

For part 2 of the finale, we will be focusing on seasonal fashion - a recurring theme throughout this competition. I want to see a runway look showcasing ONE of the four seasons. You can choose ANY one you want. Be creative but stay true to the season of your choice. Good luck and have fun!

Beauty Bonuses

The beauty bonus is an optional challenge that is a chance for you to improve your score! If you choose to complete it and the judges pick yours, you will get a bonus of +5 on your overall score. All who submit a beauty bonus will get an automatic bonus of +2.

This cycle beauty bonuses will be beauty headshots of your model styled for the season of the current assignment.

This is it, your final beauty bonus! For this last one I would like to see a headshot incorporating ALL of the seasons. That's right; an element of winter, spring, summer, and fall all in one headshot. Be creative and have fun with it!

This is your most impressive work so far! I know you misunderstood the assignment, which was partly my fault – so I decided to choose you despite you doing four separate pictures. I love all of them, but my favourite has to be the summer one! Amazing work, it’s so great to see how far you’ve come.

Kirsty's Choice: Socal with Greta


These image are the best work you have done. They are so beautiful and wonderfully edited. I was very impressed in the transitions you have made.

Everyone remember: Judging is very hard, as we have to pick apart your pictures which is never fun to do. However, it must be done, so please don't take anything to heart. I hope you see our suggestions as helpful advice, and maybe use it in future competitions!

I am totally in love with this! So creative! I love how you did the four different scenes, but kept the background the same each time and made the scenes change with the seasons. It was a great idea and I love how you did it. Each of your pictures was amazing all on its own, so to take four great pictures for one assignment – that’s amazing. This is absolutely adorable; my only complaint is that I would’ve liked to have seen a bigger version. Great work, Stella – you are constantly improving!



This is such a creative idea and I love the follow though of story flowing through the season. I think you have done a great job with all your different sets, all are very well lighted and beautiful quality. Although I understand you decided to go with a story theme for this one I still would have liked a little bit more of a fashion element and more connection with the camera for your model, Liana is the star and should always be the focus of the shot.





I love this so much! The styling and setting is so cute for spring, and it’s such a nice runway set. The only thing I didn’t love was her pose – which I thought was a bit too crazy – and also a few of your styling choices. Aside from those little things this was perfect, and just so much fun to look at. Great work once again, Stella!



Again brilliant quality and styling, I love the accessories bag you have added. I also like that you had fun with this image and didn’t make it too serious which is what summer is all about so I give you points for that. The only thing I would suggest is to add a little contrast between your models colours and the background as she doesn’t stand out as well as I wished she would. Overall though you have done a brilliant job with both your image and I feel you have improve greatly over the course of this compotation.

2nd Place
Bec with Holli




I am once again speechless, Bec. You never cease to amaze me, and this is without a doubt amazing! I love the way you did it all in game, that was a really great choice and it definitely showcases your skills as a set designer. The only thing I can think of that you could’ve done differently is her pose, it was a little bit boring – I wish you had gone with something more fun and upbeat like the rest of the picture. This is another amazing picture from you, well done!



I really love this image Bec, you have put the image together beautifully showing the four season. I think the leaves in Holli’s hands look a little awkward but overall they work. One other thing I would say is to always do a little mild shading around the out edge of you seem just to give them definition. Overall this was one of my favourites of the round.





This is stunning, Bec! Holli looks so lovely and elegant, I am obsessed with that dress – it is absolutely perfect for a fall runway. Her pose is amazing and the set is great, this is just a great picture overall. My only problem is that Holli looks washed out from either the lighting or the filter you used, and it takes away from the appeal of the photo. Other than that I simply love this.There is something about the way that you compose your pictures that is so creative and smart, and I really can learn a lot from you myself. Stunning picture!



Again you have really nailed this assignment. It is very clear you have chosen autumn and I like the pose and the set out it really gives the image a model feel. I also love the addition of the leaves on the floor. I don’t however like the lighting on you sim, I think it is something that needs to be worked on as sometimes if not lighted correctly it can do horrible things with the quality. Overall though you have been an amazing contest and have produced many of my favs.

I do think this is a pretty picture, Michelle, I just don’t really think it is perfect for the assignment. I really like the set and how Geneva appears to be getting married, but everything seems so far away – I would’ve liked it if we could see her up close. I love her styling; I think she looks so beautiful. What I’m missing is an element of winter, maybe snowfall or something? Other than that I do think this is cute, it just fell a little bit short for me. Nice work!



This is a lovely image Michelle and I love all the colours you have used with your flowers. I really appreciate the fact you tried something different with this but did you get a little confused ?. I don’t really see representation of the four different season in this image, and you have captured this image at a very strange upward angel that isn’t the most flattering. It is a ok image but I Know you are able to do much better.





This is seriously beautiful, Michelle! Geneva’s styling is perfect, the set is adorable, and overall everything works in this picture. The only thing I would’ve done differently is maybe extended the runway a bit, and taken this picture from a more interesting angle. Other than that I love this, amazing work. You have consistently produced beautiful pictures in this comp, and this one is no exception!



This is more like it. I love the colours in this image, and your quality is really great. This is a unique and cute country runway and I kind of love it. Your styling is in line with your theme with a hint of fashion. The only real issue I have with this image is again the camera angel you should know that taking images from an above angel is a no-no unless nedded. Overall you have produce some of the best images in the contest and are a brilliant competitor.

Great job on this, Desi! I love what you have done with this assignment, it really stands out. I like how you have made sure to incorporate each season, and you have done it in a way that makes sense. I have some technical issues with this though; I find this picture to be a bit flat with the way you have added in the tulips and palm trees and such. To me it doesn’t look like Bree is totally a part of the picture, and for this I would say maybe play around with different shading techniques, or try doing more stuff in game. Aside from that my only other small complain is the top – it looks painted on and I really don’t like that in CC. Other than that this is lovely, and I am so proud of how much you’ve improved throughout this competition!



I really love you styling with your images Desi . I feel you have done a good job incorporating your seasons into this image. I like the use of colours in the styling being more summery but the clothing winter. I however feel the image on a whole is an awful lot like your summer setting with the hot air balloon. Overall this is a very beautiful image.





I absolutely, completely and utterly love this picture! The colours are so bright, the quality is close to perfect, and it is exactly what I asked for and more! I am seriously obsessed with this – so great job. My only suggestion would be to play around with different camera angles, and maybe try doing a picture longer vertically, if you know what I mean. Bree looks beautiful and this picture just works for me! Great work.



I love the colours in this second image. It is clear you went with summer as your season, whoever I am not fussed on the placement you have made in this shot or the pose I would have like a direct look towards the camera in a cat walk pose. Overall it is a nice image but is just missing a few elements for me.

Socal with Greta




This was a very creative way of doing the assignment, Socal, so I applaud you on that. I do however think you missed the mark with this – it was just missing something to tie it all together. I thought the styling was okay but could’ve been more interesting, her pose was good, and the backgrounds were good. However there was not much else to see – this photo just needed more. Maybe some leaves falling in the fall section, snow in the winter – stuff like that. All this needed to be great was a wow-factor. This was good, but not amazing for me. Nice work.



I think you have done a good job cutting you sim out and onto this background. The styling is ok but I do wish you had just gone with something a little more fashionable and stylish. The poses look nice and work well with in the image. The only other thing I would suggest is to help incorporate Greta into the image more it would be helpful to add some shading and lighting to really help show she is in two different season at once as appose to standing in front of them. Overall you have shown great improvement throughout.





This was cute, Socal! I like her styling and pose, but the setting just needed a bit more to it. Maybe some chairs and some more palm trees, or even an umbrella? That would’ve made this perfect for me. Aside from the setting I think you also could’ve benefited from using a lens flare, and some kind of filter to make it more summer-looking. Overall this was a nice picture; it just needed a wow-factor. Nice work, Socal, I really do think you have improved from when you started!



I like your styling the bathing suits is nice and colourful and stand out from the monotone colours in the background. I also like the pose it is a little inexpressive in the face but on the whole works well within the image. The issue I have with this is it is a little plain, I also don’t really getting any feeling this is a runway it just looks like laps on a beach. I think you could do with turning the screen (Tab-ctrl+DorA).

6th Place
Luce with Grey




While I like what you did with this assignment, it is not something I would personally do myself. There wasn’t much creativity in the idea, which was a big problem for me. My main issue however, is the use of realistic backgrounds. You really just should not use real life backgrounds with Sims pictures; they don’t blend together at all. Go for something more cartoon and non-realistic in the future. Other than that I think Grey looks beautiful and it was an okay picture, just a little bit too much going on in it. Good work.



I think you have done a good job merging all the different season in this image and your styling is very fashionable. I do wish you had done some shading to contrast the different seasons like her bee shaded in the winter area and sun glazing on the shoulder in the summer one. I also think you should remember to make sure the background layer is sized to fit the model Grey is looking a little like a giant. Overall you have shown great improvement through-out this contest and hope to see you continue this progression.





This is my favourite picture of yours from the entire competition, Luce! I love it – so perfect for the assignment! First off, I her styling was perfect for me – I love how you did winter without a big coat and snow pants. She looks so elegant, but I can clearly see what season it’s for. The only things that brought this down a bit were the set not being too runway-looking, and also the lighting was kind of dark. Other than that, fabulous work!



I like this image Luce. I really love the styling the hair and dress really complement each other, unfortunately the dress is summer but the colours are more what I would associate with winter. Overall though I really like the way you set out this image and the angling used.
