CK213's trial run with Seasons: [Part of the Family Pg. 13]

This was supposed to be just a simple trial run to experience the seasons while I wait for others to test the waters with their mods. I'm running a vanilla town for now.

It's a good way to learn now things work so I can apply the learnings to my custom creations. That didn't last long however. I couldn't make past Autumn without wanting to put my own park in and putting a festival marker in it.

The further you get into the seasons the more this EP sucks you in. By winter I was, "OMG!"

I started out in summer, which was OK, but I wanted to see Autumn and winter.
Screenshot-38.jpg

Chris found Jamie online and they eventually became a couple.
Screenshot-67.jpg

Fall had arrived by then. Things were brownish.
Screenshot-66.jpg

The park changed to its spooky fest theme.
Screenshot-71.jpg

Screenshot-70.jpg

Look at that fog.
Screenshot-69.jpg

Full moon. I have Supernatural, so I got zombies as well. :P
It's raining without clouds.
Screenshot-72.jpg

Screenshot-73.jpg

Christopher grabbed some pumpkins while at the festival and Jamie carved them up.
Screenshot-74.jpg

Screenshot-75.jpg

She's a surgeon, so no pressure.
Screenshot-77.jpg

Screenshot-79.jpg

Sorry, no pics of all the nice red and gold fall colors. I got caught up in playing.
Screenshot-80.jpg

An umbrella isn't much protection during a serious hail storm.
Screenshot-82.jpg

I could't take it anymore. I had to put in my own park. I made a central park a while back in preparation for Seasons. All I have to do is put in the festival marker and edit for each Season.
Screenshot-83.jpg

I suddenly realized my park was created with Summer in mind and I had to delete all the summer stuff and leave all the items that were considered "common".
Screenshot-85.jpg

And then I learned that trees and shrubs were also considered common and would show up with all the seasons. So goodbye spooky trees and weeds.
Screenshot-84.jpg

But I got it together, and I like it. :D
Screenshot-86.jpg

I only edited for Fall and Winter. I will do the rest after winter is over.
Screenshot-87.jpg

The fog and the sounds from the haunted house make a big difference.
Screenshot-88.jpg

Less scary during the day.
Screenshot-91.jpg

I'm still not sure about Simfest in the Fall and Winter, but I don't want new proprietors being spawned every spring.
Screenshot-92.jpg

Screenshot-95.jpg

Screenshot-96.jpg

Screenshot-98.jpg

Time for Chris and Jamie to play.
Screenshot-99.jpg

I like that they can win tickets to buy special items.
Screenshot-100.jpg

Screenshot-101.jpg

Jamie won. She's thrilled, inside.
Screenshot-102.jpg

Wasn't there a real life painter-guy with an orange afro on TV?
Screenshot-103.jpg

Spooky.
Screenshot-104.jpg

Screenshot-105.jpg

I like these portraits a lot more than I thought I would.
Screenshot-106.jpg

The Steeles are at a casino I plopped down in the Valley. I want to them to win enough to buy a nice house.
Screenshot-107.jpg

Slow dance.
Screenshot-109.jpg

Oops.
Screenshot-108.jpg

Screenshot-110.jpg

Winter ices up car windows. I wonder what will happen to Fresh Prince cars.
Screenshot-111.jpg

Jamie is pregnant and can't ice skate. She watches Christopher.
Screenshot-112.jpg

Screenshot-113.jpg

This is annoying. Sims keep interrupting my sim to do this and canceling takes a long time.
Screenshot-114.jpg

Winter portrait time.
Screenshot-116.jpg

Screenshot-117.jpg

Christopher, I think it's time to show your girl your skills.
Screenshot-118.jpg

Screenshot-119.jpg

No worries. The life insurance policy is paid up.
Screenshot-120.jpg

Screenshot-121.jpg

Screenshot-123.jpg

Screenshot-125.jpg

Screenshot-126.jpg

So much for that.
Screenshot-128.jpg

They both have a chilled moodlet, but no negative points for it.
Screenshot-129.jpg

I wondered if hot chocolate would make it go away, but nope.
Screenshot-130.jpg

Christopher lost his job when I replaced the school rabbit hole. He has to apply again.
Screenshot-131.jpg

Might as well watch more ice skaters.
Screenshot-132.jpg

I'm going to have to make a nice cafe nearby so sims can warm up. I sent these two to the gym.
Screenshot-135.jpg

My town could use a nice coffeehouse now.
Screenshot-136.jpg

It really started to snow after they went inside.
Screenshot-137.jpg

I am awed.
Screenshot-138.jpg

I turned on the lights at Christopher and Jolina's house, but it really made me realize that I want them in a new home for the winter.
Screenshot-139.jpg

This is the one.
Screenshot-140.jpg

Oh look, Mrs Bunch is a witch. Nice sweater.
Screenshot-141.jpg

I had them stop by to check out the house.
Screenshot-142.jpg

Screenshot-143.jpg

Oh forget it. Motherlode!
This is just a trial run anyway.
Screenshot-144.jpg

Sold!
Screenshot-145.jpg

Oh yeah.
Screenshot-146.jpg

Oh yeah!
Screenshot-147.jpg

Awesome.
Screenshot-148.jpg

It's another full moon so colors are bluish and shimmery.
Screenshot-149.jpg

Screenshot-150.jpg

Screenshot-151.jpg

Finally! I can watch this an not feel jealous of TS2 sims.
Screenshot-152.jpg

I was a little disappointed that my castle roof spires don't cover with snow.
Screenshot-153.jpg

The do get a little dusting, but the ones I have on the roof don't. Probably because I used moveObjects on them.
Screenshot-154.jpg

Screenshot-155.jpg

Screenshot-156.jpg

Screenshot-157.jpg

Screenshot-159.jpg

Time for bed.
Screenshot-160.jpg

Blair Wainwright? What are you doing out here?
Screenshot-161.jpg

Looking for a Unicorn. And a very clever one, hiding up in the tree.
Screenshot-162.jpg

Must be hard to stay up there.
Screenshot-163.jpg

Find a new hiding place.
Screenshot-164.jpg

Screenshot-165.jpg

There ya go.
Screenshot-166.jpg

Oops, another human. Tamera Donner is unicorn spotting too.
Screenshot-167.jpg

Her task is done.
Screenshot-168.jpg

Screenshot-169.jpg

"Alright! Here I am. Take a good look."
Screenshot-170.jpg

"Thanks."
Screenshot-171.jpg

Screenshot-172.jpg

"They won't leave me alone."
Screenshot-174.jpg

This picture has been brought to you by Pets, Supernatural, and Seasons.Screenshot-175.jpg

Wonderful expansion so far. I hope my saved games run as smooth. :-)

Wow awesome pictures! Thanks for sharing!

Oh and that painter guy was Bob Ross lol 'Lets put a happy little tree here, and he needs a friend right here. Everyone should have a friend'

A truly beautiful man :') the sims team created an excellent likeness to him in that little image, I think it's pretty neat that hid him there lol.

P.S LOL at the Unicorns face in the last one  'Like geese what weird sims'

    That's the original skin.

    Painters still fascinate me.
How do they get from their vague blurry beginnings to those awesome finished paintings. I should take a class.

I believe my dance club will need a marker also.
I want to remove all the deck objects for winter. There is a hot tub and dance floor out there.
    Screenshot-176.jpg

And now I'm curious as to how my other homes look in winter. I'm starting to plop them down just to have a look.
    Screenshot-177.jpg

I have a lot of home designs though. It would probably be easier just to wait until I'm ready to play my old neighborhoods. :-)

Gosh, I am so fascinated by winter. It's like TS2 nostalgia for Seasons. It's funny playing this EP and thinking back on the naysayers who were saying Winter wasn't even possible in TS3.

I'm watching my Sim couple zip through the streets in a snow storm without hardly any lag.

It certainly wasn't what I expected when I went exploring while my sims slept.

I got another surprise while my sims slept. An Alien stopped by.

What do you do when an Alien flies up to your house?

    Spring

    Screenshot-246.jpg

Coral is now a child and another is on the way.
    Screenshot-247.jpg

I got the Greenhouse from the store, but be warned. It does not keep out the weather well since the glass roof is just a decoration and not a roof. You have to play tricks with ceiling tiles to keep the weather out.
    Screenshot-248.jpg

The first day of spring and all the snow is gone.
    Screenshot-250.jpg

I had to fix my park since those silly ghost gnomes were great for fall, but was attracting ghosts to the park in the winter.
    Screenshot-249.jpg

If this had been perfected and added to Seasons...just wow. I have to be honest here. I consider this a part of Seasons and the EP cost me 57 dollars. :P I just had to do some tweaking to make it work.
    Screenshot-251.jpg

    Yes, horse.
    Screenshot-252.jpg

    It's a house.
    Screenshot-253.jpg

Making Coral run a needless distance to the bus
    Screenshot-254.jpg

    Unnecessary.
    Screenshot-255.jpg

And Jamie decided to walk to the concession store.
    Screenshot-256.jpg

    So slow while pregnant.
    Screenshot-257.jpg

The Spring Festival looks more lively than the others to me.

    Screenshot-275.jpg

    Screenshot-277.jpg

    Screenshot-278.jpg

    Let's try the kissing booths.
    Screenshot-279.jpg

You just made his day, Jamie.
    Screenshot-281.jpg

    She doesn't seem thrilled.
    Screenshot-283.jpg

    A quick peck.
    Screenshot-284.jpg

Oh whoa! Hold on there, slick.
    Screenshot-287.jpg

    Screenshot-288.jpg

    Screenshot-289.jpg

Someone needs a tongue lashing for...tongue lashing.
    Screenshot-291.jpg

    More eggs.

    Screenshot-294.jpg

    Screenshot-295.jpg

Since this isn't a career rabbit hole, I shouldn't have any trouble. I hope.
    Screenshot-296.jpg

They just had a family tour.
    Screenshot-297.jpg

Good thing, it started raining heavily.
    Screenshot-298.jpg

One more season left before the testing of my park is complete.

One, these look absolutely *fantastic*. I always love to watch you make your way through new EPs.

Two, how do you get your Sims to have such nice hair? Or does the picture/screenshot naturally add bloom or smoothness or something? I don't know what you're doing, but my goodness Jamie's hair looks so...SMOOTH and AMAZING.

They don't seem to mind, but Christopher put just a little too much spin on that kiss. I thought Jamie shouldn't put up with it. :-)

I want some Alien gameplay, so I put the hurry on Jamie's friendship with Faon Thobanob.
    Screenshot-348.jpg

    I love those friendship elixirs.
    Screenshot-349.jpg

I found out that Faon was an elder on the brink of dying of old age. I rushed and found an death flower and a couple of life fruits. And then I went to the magic shop to see if I could buy a youth potion. No luck.

Oh heck. I'm gonna do what I really want to do.
    Screenshot-353.jpg

I went into CAS and made her over in the form of one of my favorite alien sims that I made for the Lunar Lakes set.

    Geewii! She's an Alien/Human hybrid.
    Screenshot-354.jpg

And now she has Alien powers!
    Screenshot-355.jpg

I think Jamie needs a bio boost.
    Screenshot-356.jpg

    Ha!
    Screenshot-358.jpg

Geewii doesn't need to sleep and doesn't have much to do at night, so I sent her to mess with one of the locals.
    Screenshot-360.jpg

He didn't care to be probed, or was simply being grumpy.
    Screenshot-361.jpg

A space rock happened to be in front of the bookstore.

A screwdriver? You would think they would have something like a sonic screwdriver.

I put a few custom lots around town, but I have yet to play my master version of Sunset Valley.

Once I'm done with my festival park, I will plop it in my fully edited Sunset Valley. Then the real fun will begin. :)
