Wicki- I got the curl on the side hair style. I was hoping for something "bigger", but free stuff is awesome nonetheless. For the GS cookie question, it is a lemon cookie covered with powdered sugar. It is supposed to be a representation of the South. If that were the case I think they would have a Mint Julep cookie. Only one of the two official bakers is making it so it will depend on where you are if you can get it. Here in Iowa we will not have that cookie.
Ivory- The EPs I have are Generations, Pets, and Late Nights.
Silver: oh I know removing World Adventures is sad, it really is...I love that EP so much and I never explored Egypt..and it was all good until other EP's came out..then the trouble started. I took it off regretably...but the new patch downloaded another file to the menu which is pretty good size...I have no idea what EA has planned for the future...I do know there is a way to change it to a read me only file...but it is complicated for me to understand so I have to have someone help me with it. It is in Crincrit's thread in the Showtime section..I think I gotta look once to be sure or maybe in the tech thread on how to do it. That file contains the in-game store stuff they advertise when you go to buy/build mode. Then when showtime comes out it will add the new in-game social for facebook and I don't want that either. So that means until I do that I can't add anymore new EP's/stuff packs. I do need to take my computer in and have it cleaned up and add more memory...it is three years old, but I am not ready to buy a new one yet. I certainly don't want to bog it down anymore with that file in the newest patch.
Zeph: Thanks! I knew I remembered seeing a pic of that newest cookie but I didn't know more than that...it does sound good though...mint julep is funny think it is a good idea though...you know I am here in South Dakota, my youngest son lives in nebraska just on the tip of the Iowa boarder..I used to work in the Walgreens Pharmacy in Morningside Iowa..I would tease Paul when I drove back to Yankton/Springfield telling him I traveled 3 states in one day...Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.
Wicki: I've haven't uninstalled World Adventures, yet and will see how the game works now that I've cleaned a lot of stuff out of it before making my decision.
Question: If I uninstall WA will it mess up my other EP and stuff packs as I have everything installed in the order in which they came out.
Your suggestion regarding the pet shop worked. I removed it from the launcher and redownloaded it and the shop is my list of community lots in Edit Town. I replaced the pet shop I got off the exchange with that one.
As for Showtime, I'm kind of wishing there was a way to cancel my order and get a credit for Origin to purchase other things with like Simpoints to buy some store items with.
Jazen- We're getting ready for cookie time, too! My girls are working hard to raise money to visit Washington D.C. for the 100th anniversary sing-a-long.
So Liam wouldn't let me on the forums all yesterday and I got a bit cranky by the end of the day because I couldn't get here.
I got a random gift for posting my new years resolution on the forum the other day!
Tech question: I downloaded the two YA so for and installed them in the game, but I don't know where they are. They do not show up in the sim panel. If I try to install again it just tells me they are already in the game. Do I do something wrong?
P.S. *waves at Ivory* It was me that is looking for a sim.
My girls are in the 10th grade so they barely sell any more.
As for your tech question if they were "sims" and not "households" then they will be found in CAS. When you are in CAS click on the shadow box that says pre made sims and they should be in there.
It took me the longest time to figure out where my sims went when I would download them.
Faye: Suri and family look great, the wedding pictures were so pretty and the new little guy is a cutie. Think they may have more? Would be cool to see if one gets daddy's red hair and mom's pretty eyes.
Prox: Your Sims look great! How funny that she would "accidently" woohooed and had a 6th. Would make for an interesting story, LOL.
Silver: I'm so sorry to hear about the McDoughal's (sp?) I was really enjoying the read, but the obituary/write up you did was a very nice ending, if a bit early. I sympathize with the computer issues, but since I don't have a great mind for tech stuff I'll just encourag you to keep it up and be persistent to get to a resolution so you can enjoy it much faster.
I've been organizing like mad and hope to have some new screenshots posted today. Kinda excited to show off the good looking kids that are my Gen 6!
Jazen: oh I love girlscout cookies..and they have a new one out..don't remember what it is called. Have you had the chance to sample it yet? What flavor is it...only seen pics of it..it looked like it might be frosted or something. Anyways how exciting, cookie time! Certainly sounds like you are back at the grind with the kids games and such...how nice you will now celebrate Christmas with your family..I love extended Christmas, family get togethers are always s great! Enjoy
Wicki--As Zeph said it's a lemon cookie. It's called Savannah Smiles but we've had one like it before that was called a lemon cooler.
I don't know why they brought back something we've already tried but maybe they are hoping the name change will make a difference. I had the training yesterday but sadly this year they didn't send any cookies to sample.
Cookie time for my troop is less stressful now. I only have 3 girls and they are high school age so they do very little selling. We quit doing the booth sales when they were in middle school so it's just whatever the get going door to door.
Yumm, I really want girl Scout cookies now (the Tagalongs are the best, in my opinion, LOL.) Hope all the Scouts have fun this year selling them - I used to have a blast with it!
So... I've been talking a lot about getting pictures and blog orgnized and I am so happy to share with you the Leday Family at Generation 6! I think the family looks pretty good and the genetics have done really well for the youngest generation. Picking an heir will certainly be a challenge!
And here she is as a Child. As a child, Fionna is quiet and tends to keep to herself and her imaginary friend, ****. She inherited the family Insane trait as well as Genius and Virtuoso. Fionna is enrolled in Girl Scouts to help her make some friends, but she'd rather be home playing with **** or reading. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-i92U7UJXeTA/Twda7YLzchI/AAAAAAAAAPY/EjIBNcbRe0o/s1600/Child+Fionna.jpg
Francesca is a much different little girl than her sister. She also inherited the family Insane trait as well as Grumpy and Neurotic. Francesca is the center of attention in the family, mostly because she demands it. Elizabeth quickly put her in Ballet to give her an audience to perform to outside of the house. Francesca as a child: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-INC-YnH2nWQ/TwdbC_2Sh6I/AAAAAAAAAPo/lHBkf-pwQI0/s1600/Child+Francesca.jpg
The youngest members are Fredrick and Farin, twin boys. Elizabeth and Timmothy had thought hard about a third pregnancy, but they both wanted a boy and decided to go for it. Lucky for them, they have two little terrors! The boys are still toddlers (they will celebrate a birthday over the weekend). First up is little Fredrick: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mjLuHcIvmG0/TwdbL3tNbEI/AAAAAAAAAP4/oS2oSMfJ8ZE/s1600/toddler+Fredrick.jpg
One last picture to share is Aunt Danielle, my vampire Sim. Danielle is Elizabeth's aunt and has seen a lot already in her life and she still has 50 Sim days before she reaches Elder! I really like her aside from her nose (inherited from her mother.) She has been toying with the idea of trying plastic surgery, but she's nervous about it: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Q-IHFaacjwE/TwdbG3FwVqI/AAAAAAAAAPw/8h-h2J5pGo4/s1600/Francesca+%2526+Danielle.jpg
That's my clan so far! I'm still working on updating the Legacy blog, but hopefully it will be ready soon and I can jump back into the game with these Sim. I plan to hold a vote on the next heir soon because I have a tough time trying to think it out now and it might be fun to see what other's think.
Faye: he is too precious in that curly hair...ya gotta stop showing me all this cool stuff you have so I'm not tempted to go to the store and buy it..I love that hair!
Suri is a pretty sim, are those the little girl jamies from the store she is wearing? I love those too!
Yes, the pajamas are from the Store as well! I love them so much! I was just fortunate enough to have enough Sim Points laying around to buy them!
And my favorite television show of all time, BBC's Merlin, gets on tonight at 10:00! It's a new season and I can't wait to watch it! I've been dying to see it ever since Season 4 (Which is the season that is premiering here in America tonight) premiered in the U.K. last year! It's all so exciting! My best friend, who is also a huge fan, and I are going to text back and forth our favorite quotes from the episode throughout the entire showing. Ooh, it's going to be so much fun!
Oh. My. Gosh! The most amazing thing just happened while I was playing Sims! Suri was pregnant and she went to the hospital to give birth while Mihael stayed behind and took care of Abhay. Well, the pop up came up, asking me to name a little girl whom I named Asha which is Hindi for hope or compassion. And then...A BABY BOY WAS BORN! THE FIRST BOY AND GIRL TWINS EVER BORN IN MY GAME! Sorry for the all caps moment, but I'm just so excited! That has never happened to me no matter how many families or generations I've played! I named the baby boy Chander which is Hindi for "Moon". I'm just so thrilled. These little babies are my miracle babies! *Squeals!*
Wickichick- It's great to see you, too! I finally had some time to post in here again.
Thanks. I agree about Neve's facial expression. I think she has a very beautiful look to her. Thanks on August. I tried to make him more "manly". Good to see it came across
I agree. Those Langerak's sure are player type of men. Mannix is also my favorite.
I'll be sure to post more pictures once they come
Ivory- Thank you so much on the compliments on my sims! I tried hard to make the two parents so that they'd have good looking children. So far, it's all worked out.
Silver- Nice to meet you, too :-) Hope your day was well.
And what's cute is that they did it at the exact same time, right next to each other! You'd think that when they did that, it meant that they were close. Quite the opposite. I'm currently working on building up their relationship because for some reason when they aged up, their relationship was in the red. Very odd. :? But their relationship is improving everyday and it's now in the green level. Hooray!
Faye just gave me an idea for a baby name in the future 4 1 of my sims...
and i'm about to ask a stupid question............. does playing music on your computer while playing the sims count as a background process? I think it does ... ? :?:
I'm going to buy some parts online to upgrade my computer in a few days then work on it.... shouldn't take to long to arrive and my pc will run alot better.
I'm going to buy some parts online to upgrade my computer in a few days then work on it.... shouldn't take to long to arrive and my pc will run alot better.
No problem! I live with my parents and my dad's a software engineer so I learned a lot about computers from him over the years lol. Most of the time it's stuff I could care less about, but sometimes it's essential stuff, stuff that could help me make my computer better and learn how to identify problems that are going on. But both he and I are struggling to figure out why my computer keeps crashing if the power supply is good and we just replaced the graphics card (And power supply) and the hard drive came back to life. My computer isn't recognizing the other hard drive I have in there so we can't move things over to that one which makes me nervous because I don't want to lose my Sims family for good!
Oh, btw, what name did I give you inspiration for? xD I'm curious!
Suri is pregnant again, just a few minutes after bringing home Baladeva. I want them to have another little girl so I can name her Tomoe because my best friend and I love that name and she asked me last night if I would name the next girl that was born Tomoe. I agreed and that's why I want them to have a little girl.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend, mine is going to be busy, but being busy is something I'm learning to get use to, I suppose it's giving my hands a rest from working with my simmies, so I'll be rearing to go when I do get back to them
*cuddles to all*
The Universe & I have agreed to disagree with each other!
Silver: Yes, unfortunately removing the WA without a complete uninstall and reinstall could create new problems...I have never even been able to add the newest EP without eventually having to do that...it's so ridiculous but one of the things we seem to have to do to play the game. So I guess I don't blame you for waiting to see if you continue to have issues at this point. Every computer is different depending on your processer and graphics card so good luck. You never know what will happen next, but it's not a pleasant suspense in this case.
I think showtime will be a good investment somewhere down the line...once a person figures out how to break the downloads from the patch and it's a kinda wait and see thing with the soical networking they are trying to incorporate into the sims 3...there should be a way to play with it off if you want to.
Ivory: I think you captured the most lovely of the girl next door image...who in my mind would be a warm and caring person of virture with a sweet dispositon and a wisdom of things that matter most.
Prox: So glad you found yourself with a little free time and that you used some of it to share your newest family. With so many sims under the same roof I am sure it is an interesting story.
I think the Langeraks are one of the many interesting families living in SunSet Valley...Dustin appears to be a low life, but with his wife being so strung to powerhouse her way through her profession you got to wonder if she steals some of his manhood away from him...heaving so much responsibility onto Katelyn's young shoulders ya gotta wonder if her OCD in cleanliness is natural or a disorder to the damands the household places on her and Parker appears to be the rebel type with his slob trait, but he certainly has a date with politics in his future..they are an interesting family and one of the best looking.
Faye: You were really busy with your family this week-end so much has happened! Abhay is handsome...you must have downloaded the newest patch, am I right? Baby Baladeva looks to have a perfectly shaped head, I have yet to download the patch. I love the stroller pics..that was a great addition to the game. Tamoe is a pretty name...good luck getting a girl.
The notification came earlier today that Tara should spend more time with her Mom. I knew what that meant, so I sent Tara over to her childhood home to spend with her family. I think she and Mom had a good last day together.
I kinda feel with the above picture, Maggie is having the same talk that most parents have with their adult children. "So, when are you going to give me grandchildren?" LOL
Then later that evening, Grim came a calling for Maggie.
I was so sad, because Maggie was my heir to this legacy and I liked her.
I decided that Tara needed new clothes, to show that she was in mourning for a while.

Here is Elizabeth, the 5th generation heiress as a teen. She was the only Sim born to this generation so it's wonderful that her young life has been fairly uneventful.
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KmB7qhAdEU0/TwdZ_CvgikI/AAAAAAAAAOg/R1ajWy1HsNI/s1600/Teen+Elizabeth.jpg
She grew into a really beautiful young adult. In this picture, she's at the bar with portraits of her earlier family members.
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-m11rAHZjxQE/TwdaCtkwdRI/AAAAAAAAAOo/CNomemuzjE8/s1600/YA+Elizabeth.jpg
Elizabeth fell in love with Timmothy, the hired help, but looking at him I really can't say I blame her! He is a bit older than she is and he's now an elder pushing 93 Sim Days, but here he is as an Adult chatting up Elizabeth. (I LOVE his eyes!)
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yFWFScQjv0M/TwdaJaNgrqI/AAAAAAAAAOw/irIoQ445KJw/s1600/Adult+Timmothy.jpg
Timmothy and Elizabeth had 5 children, with 2 sets of twins! Here is their eldest, Faith, now a teen. It amazes me just how MUCH this kid looks like her mother!
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uBaH-zmWO_w/TwdaZM2HiwI/AAAAAAAAAPA/V1NvOGdjREc/s1600/Teen+Faith.jpg
The first set of twins were girls, Fionna and Francesca. The girls are now children, but here is Fionna as a toddler.
