If Island Paradise weren't so buggy, I would vote for that. Island Living is quite pretty, and I enjoy my time spent there. But, it also feels lacking as far as an Expansion Pack goes.

This is a known bug that happened with the June 18 patch. Influence Emotions and Dark Meditation do not work currently as a result of the patch. To me Sims 3 is the better game. It has more content and more depth overall. Having said that, now that I've been playing Sims 4, it's hard for me to go back. Sims 3 was quite glitchy and froze a ton. Sims 4 runs so much smoother. I don't like turning my back on Sims 3, but it's too hard to go back and try and play.

Aside from the new issues with Vampires, I haven't had any problems. With Island Living officially releasing tomorrow, I'm hoping another patch comes out quickly that fixes these issues.

As much as I enjoyed an open world in TS3, it just caused too much lag and too many glitches. I just recently went back to play Island Paradise and it stutters way too much. Same thing with the Influence Emotions. You can't do it inside a building anymore it seems, and when you are outside the Sim just gets the question mark thought bubble, as if they don't know what to do. I know the latest patch supposedly fixed and changed some Vampire stuff, but they've obviously messed other stuff up.

I really liked the plant people in Sims 2, but Seasons in Sims 3 is great with it being an open world now.

Same thing with that "ultra" pet bed or whatever it is. You get that from a rewards menu too.

I had this exact problem with Late Night, and it was due to that DEP issue. I haven't had it with Pets so far, but once I followed the steps for the DEP thing it ran perfect. I forget how to fix the issue, but definitely look into the DEP.

Well I've tried that but instead it brings up the interactions/menu options for the art theatre, which is the building that is already there. My sim is unble to watch movies at this building and can only watch a symphony or attend musical classes.

As for that last list of questions, there aren't really any new careers or hobbies/skills that I can think of. Pets have the "hunt" skill, but that's for pets only. This sounds similar to the problem many of us are having where none of our store content is showing up in the game. The launcher says it's installed, and it shows up in the installed category, but it won't show up in the game. It seems to be linked to the Create A Pet Demo, but I'm not positive.
