  • I've just recreated Strangetown in my game using families and house I've found in the gallery. I'm playing Strangetown in TS2, too. I've mostly enjoyed making over the houses in TS4, since building features have vastly improved. I'd love to have a save file with all of the original TS2 neighborhoods, but I haven't been…
  • I've had no issues with Sims 3 today, so (at least for me) it was not an origin issue.
  • I absolutely agree that we shouldn't need to do this to play the game post patch. I never would have tried to download things on my own if I didn't have a computer engineer living in my house who fixes everything I mess up. I never had to give permissions to download the patch/start the game, but I don't have an added…
  • Game crashed in CAS after less than 20 minutes in game.
  • Reinstalling the latest version of visual c++ runtime worked to get my game to launch. I know someone else mentioned that earlier. You have to know if you're 32 bit (the x86 link) or 64 bit (the x64 link) version of Windows. My husband is much more computer savvy, so I waited for his expertise before trying to fix anything…
  • I had this issue too after restarting my computer and restarting origin. I guess I could try launching another game, but really don't want to mess with anything else. I have Sims 4 all backed up.
  • @SimQARobo The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP140.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may solve this problem. The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may solve this problem.
  • @SimQARobo I sent you a message with the info copied. I don't have the option to attach a file.
  • Watching PleasantSim's videos got me to reinstall Sims 2/3 on my computer. I had forgotten how much better the personality systems were. I've tried adding the Sims 4 mods she recommends, and while it did help a little; it's still just a shell compared to the the previous iterations. I'm waiting to see the reviews on the…
  • I've loved the way you tell stories since TS3, and have enjoyed this thread. I haven't uninstalled yet, but I've reinstalled TS2 and TS3 and haven't played 4 in weeks (and the last few times I have tried to play, I exit the game after a few minutes). While I hope to hear more of your sim stories in the future, I hope you…
  • During my 100 baby challenge, my sim gets a ton of texts congratulating her on her new babies and new relationships from all of her previous partners... that she's still dating. They're really oblivious.
  • Family Oriented, Bookworm, and Creative Lately I could add lazy, but I blame that on kids running circles around me. I dream of bed time (both mine and their's).
  • These last few are some of my favorite families. I've already made a Pleasantview in Sims 4, but now want to start a sims 3 world! You've made awesome recreations!
  • I love what you did with Dina. I've never thought she as a"man-hungry" as her sister and mother are portrayed in Sims 4. I also think Nina and Don deserve each other.
  • I played with just the base game for a long time. I only have City Living as an expansion pack and 2 game packs. In previous versions of Sims I would buy every pack could, but I never played any of them fully. I do want to expand my collection, but I've enjoyed actually playing through content-- much of which I still have…
  • My screen is maybe 13 inches, so full screen is a must. Even the task bar takes away what precious screen space I have. Most of my multitasking happens outside of my computer (thanks, real life). If I have to switch out, I use the Windows key. Some of the windowed pictures make me curious to try it, but I'm not sure I need…
  • I would have to say that Generations is my favorite. I play a lot of families, so it's features fit best with my game play. I recently re-installed Supernatural and am realizing how much I enjoy this expansion as well. Sometimes I prefer "normal" sims, but the supernatural element really adds to the fun of the game as well.
  • Sunset Valley is my go-to neighborhood. For Males: I think Mortimer Goth grows up well. Gunthor is fairly good-looking as well. I also like Xander Clavell. For females: Bella Bachelor, and Lisa Bunch grow up well. I also like Molly French and Zelda Mae. As for the townies, there are probably a few, but I never can remember…
  • I don't have TS4 yet, so I can only base my opinion on the first three games. I think the TS3 manor is the style I would say fits the family storyline best, but I think the functionality of it makes me miss the TS2 version. That may have more to do with my personal style. Either way, I've always had a soft spot for the…
  • > @sunnyside83 said: > I like the Shallow and Broke families in Riverview, the Shue Family in Hidden Springs, Elvira Slayer and the Angelistas in Bridgeport, and Agnes Seabottom in Barnacle Bay. I had forgotten about the Brokes. I love the chaos and the storyline with that family.
  • Out of the ones I have played, the Goths (my current play), the Bunch family, and the Clavells. I also like Molly French and her daughter, they've been tied to many families I've created.
  • I like the lot near the waterfall, but it takes so long to get into town. My sims would always be late to work. Of course, sending them out the door 5 minutes before work started never helped. If you're planning on a large family, I would go for a bigger lot. It helps with routing and it gives you more possibilities to…
  • I really like generations because I like to play families. I like the new interactions for teens and especially children, who I feel previously lacked fun interactions. I do not have seasons, but have heard great reviews about it as well.
  • The Clavell family is definitely that family for me. I just couldn't let them go. Even when I had to reinstall the game due to some tech issues, I saved them. They started out as just a test to get to know some of the premades and test some mods at the time, and then it just kept growing.
  • I make babies last for 2-3 days, toddlers for 5, kids for 7, teens for 7, young adults and adults between 19-25, and elders for 7-10. I like to play generations, so I don't want my sims to be around for too long. Though, I have adjusted lifespans for sims I do really like. When I play with Supernatural, I keep the moon…
  • I have accomplished a few of the career ones and the surrounded by family one. I have also done the skill point ones. The hardest for me to complete are any that do not match personality or lifestyle (ie Cornelia Goth wanting a huge garden.) Like others have said I spend the points on what I think will be most useful for…
  • I will be. I am interested in TS4, but I am waiting until I have more time to devote to it. If I got it tomorrow, the time I could spend playing It wouldn't justify the cost. Besides, TS3 has a lot of features that I enjoy and I know it will be some time before TS4 has the elements of the expansion packs I enjoy.
  • I still feel like I have so much to explore in The Sims 3 (I'm still relatively new to it). I am excited for 4, but am going to wait until I know I have the time for proper exploration. However, once I switch games I do find it hard to go back (mostly because my computer can't handle more than one at a time and trying to…
  • When I first start exploring a game or an expansion pack, I usually start with a single sim or premade. I prefer to play families, but I like to build them up with either a single sim or couple to start. Edit: Typing while on the elliptical, bad combination.
  • I loved this game! I never was able to beat it, though. My brother sold his PS2 without warning me, and I couldn't justify buying one just for one game. I'm still kind of bitter about that ;)
