I practically ran to update this patch, only to find that it’s waiting for approval for consoles. I know it’s a Microsoft/Sony thing but “UGH!” Forget free the babies, free my Sims from this patch!

It might be cool if they added difficulty based on past games. I remember The Sims 2 being more strenuous with faster motive decay and aspiration failure. The Sims 1, iirc, was notoriously much more difficult. I could see them adding a check box where you can improve the difficulty by one notch (Sims 2) or two notches…

I think Parenthood and Seasons did quite a bit for Generations content. However, I can see Generations being stretched out into multiple dedicated packs towards each lifestate. Patch is also not out for consoles too. Boooooo!!!!! We have to wait until Microsoft/Sony approve. Maybe they’ll cancel the patches release on us if it’s really causing damage... Edit: this is getting rather old at this point. They had a week to fix this, and not one person thought to test out the hot fix patch?

Next patch (the skin tone one I’m presuming) I’ll try not to be too tempted and wait until I hear a consensus on whether or not it works. As much as my Sims need this fix, I can’t risk having a broken game again.

I have no idea if it’s true, but I heard that console has more crashes than PC/Mac. It seems fundamentally true, in that our fixes are lowering the volume, whereas PC has the -nosound command that (in theory) fixes everything. However, I’m not sure. I don’t think so, I think both sides of the aisle are getting hit by this. Some are indicating the crashes are happening less frequently with SE installed, but they’re still happening regardless.

Tbh it could go either way. I’m a bit confused, because the main page for the sound crash bug makes it seem like the QA team know exactly what’s going on, and how to fix it. I’m not going to learn my lesson, and will likely download straight away. At this point, I have nothing left to lose. The console port is essentially broken until this hot fix.

Exactly! I have so much plans for my current save and I can’t play at all. My only solace is that everyone is in the same boat, and The Sims Team will never know peace until they get out the patch. If I remember correctly, even some game changers are calling it out as well, and LGR is even having the same issues.

I’ve not experienced this, but apparently the parameters for placing the cake have been glitched out. You might have to move the cake to the center of the counter or table for it to work— or select another option of aging the Sim up— like tasting the icing, making a wish, etc. I don’t know though, but try those and see if…

I can’t tell you which Build Mode song it is, but the Radiohead song is No Surprises. There’s a part of the song (you’ll probably know exactly which part I’m talking about) that’s a big part of a Build Mode song. Once I made the connection, I can’t not hear it lol XD
