Master Crafter is a teen friendley aspiration, as teens can complete it. No milestones demand your sim to grow up.
I'm not sure I will rec. making it the starting aspiration though. Most of my sims are using the new pack as a sidething.

@Simmingal I just love your Simmingal character and the storylines you have for her! She is quite the adventurer and I enjoy seeing what she is up too! @LeucosiaX I love your jewelry, especially the occult ones! I can't wait to get into my game and start playing again! I have several occults who are going to really enjoy the hobby and the jewelry! You have both inspired me to try to find the time to play again! Am working on setting up an occult game and can't wait to start it.

Simmingal was getting quite bored waiting for this crystal tree thing.
She therefore decided to head out again.
her first stop was Mt.Komorebi,
for she really wanted to find jade
but had not gotten her hands on any yet
unfortunately though that turned out quite unlucky
as there were not many rocks at all in Mt.Komorebi
just lots of doodles made by children as it turns out
Simmingal then decided to try out some occult worlds
Glimmerbrook, despite its name was very much not glimmering at all
only glimmering thing around was Simmingal burning alive.
all they really had was these dig spots all over
that I so far have not gotten metals or gems from,
lots of upgrade parts though which with the current goal were rather useless
some my sims and fossils too.
upset by this discovery Simmingal headed to magic realm.
which was about as upsetting as the previous places if not more upsetting
Simmingal almost mistook this horse manure for a gem in her desperation
because there simply were no gems to be found besides the stall she did not want to use twice
Well what about Grims Quarry in Evergreen Harbor? Surely there is rocks in rock quarry?
False. there is no rocks in rock quarry.

where similar bad luck followed, still no rocks just these dig spots.
this however did not surprise Simmingal as much
because she had been in Forgotten Hollow all these years not particularily seeing rocks there.
what she saw everywhere though were holiday decorations of all sorts, regardless of where she went.
Simmingal: Hmph fine, I'll go back in the cave and make some earrings then.

Aurora finished her first collection. She made the full set of chunky jewelry pieces for herself. She chose orange topaz gemstones to help her create better paintings and photos.

The full set of jewellery that Aurora has made of the chunky jewellery is lovely! @DaniRose2143 The orange topaz is very nice.
@musteni@Svineprutter choose "cut gemstone" on the gemology table and choose "seed-shaped gemstone" for the design then whatever crystal you want. Once done you can plant it, either before or after charging it, and you'll get at least four crystals each day once fully grown. What you get varies but you do get the new ones that came with the pack.
Thank you for that information. I'd love for Londyn to be able to use any gemstone or metal in her jewelry but she doesn't have time to go around the worlds hunting for those items. Hopefully the really rare ones will occasionally and not just the easy to find ones.
If you have get to work you can download rooms of gems from the gallery and set them for sale. Also, you could also download a room full of metals and sell them as well. You can also download a duplicator the scientist makes and duplicate crystals and metals.

regardless she did not forget to talk about religion fashion with the locals
locals who somehow seemed to look very tall all of sudden making Simmingal feel so very small.

As far as rock situation went Simmingal did not spot any rocks but it could be because of the festival
or she seems to remember there was those volcano rock things with the lot trait
but she was not sure if those came with metals or crystals
so that shall be discovery for some other time
Simmingal also decided to take quick look at Strangerville while out and about
but she did not see any rocks there either
yet again, could be the state of the world though.
or just that neighborhood.
tomorrow Simmingal is going to visit the FutureSim Labs so she is sure she'll find gems there though.

here is Simmingals stats before Simlabs about half there.
I am happy to notice that having jewellery with gem/metal in it
or buying gem/metal on the gemology table to craft with

Yeah it seems one must not look from the "obvious" rocky sparkly sounding places but rather from their own backyards ๐ค

@Ziafar@Simmingal Do you just have to allow the digsites to reset by being on a lot in the neighborhood at the right time of day? Is it 6:30am like for the plants?

but rocks refresh daily on same spots and it can be any type rock
like if you saw metal rock there next day it might be theres fossil rock instead
I'm not sure if there can be rocks where there is these all vague dig spots
but I assume not since it would be strange coincidence that all of them are dig spots at once
so I believe it will refresh as vague dig spot again the next day
I don't believe you have to stay in neighborhood though
since everytime i go to oasis springs park theres new rocks
even if I have not stayed there

I was trying to contain these adventures in 7 days
but obviously I've failed due to the lack of rocks
be not afraid though
for this 8th day is going to be real gamechanger!

Yeah, going to get digging, I'll leave no photo evidence behind though.
They'll never know these gems are lab created,
I mean, there is no way to tell.
at least not in The Sims.
After digging a bit Simmingal decided to blast off to Planet Sixam to see if it would be any less scorching,
feels kind of backwards to travel towards the sun though.
Sixam also had some lovely gems and metals,
although nowhere near as many as the lab itself
and these were more Sixam specific I think
the gem color doesn't seem to matter
as you can get Nitelite from these red ones as well
and interestingly aliens can also be mistaken for gems while hovering about
but Simmingal was trying to keep safe distance to all of them, just in case.
and upon returning back on Sim Earth,
There it is first completed collection!

Congratulations on completing the collection! @Simmingal It is good that you were able to find many rocks by joining the scientist career and visiting Sixam.
and this cursed huge gnome from rainborz
charged effect: less likely to develop fears, benefits of the Brave trait.
I do think one has to be rather brave to walk past that terrifying gnome.
ofcourse we couldn't leave the table without also making some new jewellery
so I decided to create RAW set with heavy metal and diamonds
for heavy metal is gals best friend and raw_est thing she could come up with
still, not good match to this particular outfit
but Simmingal has finally reached the top of gemology skill with all this crafting

Have you checked your household inventory as well? Sometimes the game puts things I expect in my sims personal inventory in the household inventory. It is worth a try.
My sim has been working hard on the Crystal collection. Looks like I used a similar strategy like @Simmingal and made my sims work as a scientist. She also took a few trips to Sixam to complete the collection. I even found some rare metals on sixam like rosegold. I never knew that was an alien metal
Callisto posing with the full collection. The crystals are displayed in the same order as they appear in the collections so I could keep track of the missing ones.
I also ended up with a lot of duplicates but I didn't sell them because they are now resources for jewels.
Callisto and Kyioshi are hard at work to make something beautiful out of those gems. Kyioshi is making a gem seed for a crystal tree. I am really curious to see that tree in my game. Callisto is working on a necklace with Jade so she can hopefully get a few random gems every now and then.

or so the game told her but she still doesn't have jade or amazonite
so... yeah I think its just counting base game gems actually.
Still! quite enough to start making some more jewellery and gemstone cuts
Simmingal started with creating some gem cuts
Star from Jonquilyst
charged effect: tense moodlets will fade faster, fun need does not decay
Plumbob from plumbite
charged effect: needs increase when close to the object
(I sort of wish it continued to shine but it doesn't)
Brilliant cut moonstone to celebrate the lovely moon
charged effect:
Bored moodlets deplete faster.
Vampires have slower vampire thirst decay.
Spellcasters don't experience failure with magic unless overcharged.
Werewolves fury decays faster.
and ofcourse
Heart of Jet
charged effect: summon grim reaper, always succeed pleading grim.
