Probably a boring question, but I wonder how much a horse costs? The basic cost of an untrained horse, I understand winning contests etc might raise the value.
And if "rescuing" a horse, assuming that is cheaper, will it come with any catch?
I have a couple of questions about mini sheeps and goats.
Do they roam a lot around the world if they are not put in a fenced area? I remember chickens roaming quite far, and I didn't like that.
Also, I read somewhere that sheeps/goats can use the horse bed. Is that true? Can you assign a horse bed to your sheeps/goats?
One last question that might make no sense (but it would help me create a horse randomizer): how many horse color are there in CAS? I know about the color wheel, but I'm talking about the pre-made 'style' of coats.
Thanks in advance for answering. I might probably ask more questions as they pop up in my mind 🤣
Edit: okay, here's another one: is there a way to make your horse stay still in some place after you dismount them? Like, if I go to the small pond to take a swim, can I make my horse stay there waiting, or they just walk away autonomously?
Console player (PS). Finally reached 1000+ hours on The Sims 4.
And if "rescuing" a horse, assuming that is cheaper, will it come with any catch?
I'm not EmmaVane, but lilsimsie answered that in her review that I watched: Rescuing a horse only costs 250§ instead of 1,000§ for adopting one, but the rescued horse will come with less desirable traits.
I'm not really sure why anyone would adopt or rescue a random horse when you can just get one for free, exactly the way you want it, by creating it in CAS. But maybe the adopted/rescued ones can come with special traits not available in CAS?

Buying a horse:
1,000 simoleons, normally have 3 good traits due to being raised well.
Adopting a horse:
250 simoleons, normally have 3 bad traits due to them being rescues.
Increasing value:
Value is increased by bonus birth traits, skill levels and competition wins. There's also a champion trait for big winners that I believe can be inherited by foals. Foals born in game start at 1,000 simoleons.
This horse was a rescue foal, so originally cost 250 simoleons. She has 2 bad traits and one that is great for Endurance training (Energetic):
this is such a silly question. does anyone know if it will be possible to keep horses in apartments from city living or eco lifestyle? or even the sheep and goats perhaps?

Thanks @GrumpyGlowfish . I guess adopting can be a fun challenge, just like it is interesting adopting a puppy not knowing its specie, or a child not knowing how it will look when growing up. But most importantly, it seems like it would be possibnle actually making a living from adopting horses to train/skill them and sell them later. And at some time there will of course be one you simply need to keep forever

Wow, that is an awesome idea! I might actually make a sim who does that.
Hey. I thought we were able to make unicorns by having a horse and adding a horn as an accessory but I can't seem to find a horn? Can anyone else? Lol.

Horses can't go into apartments in any world. I'm not sure about the penthouses in San Myshuno.

I believe it's under hats for horses. Nope! What Grumpy said.

Mini Roaming:
Minis roam, but they don't seem to go as far as chickens. They can be gathered or collected to inventory (singly or collectively via sim-picker) via an interaction on any mini. They can also all be called to eat via feeders, but this usually works better if you gather them first. Placing them back in the world from inventory is a bit more tedious as it has to be done one at a time. Adding to inventory, then placing again is a sneaky way to wake a mini you need to interact with.
Mini Sleeping Habits:
Minis will use a horse bed. I found they were more likely to sleep on the one assigned to my horse than the unassigned one, until I had enough to crowd the place. They like to sleep with company, it seems. You can't directly assign the horse beds to minis, just horses.
Horse Colours:
There are 35 breeds, each with a single swatch. The swatch is broken down into up to 5 layers (base colour, highlight etc) which you can change up for the same coat(?) in different colours, like cats/dogs/werewolves. You can also paint patterns or details manually on top of that.
Horse Wandering:
Horses will wander off to fill needs, socialise or to do things associated with their traits. One foal had the zoomies a lot because she was Energetic. Another horse was always wandering off for attention. If you keep their needs high, they should be less likely to wander, but there's no way to tether them to one spot unless you gate them in. I haven't maxed all skills yet though, so there might a "Stay" command at high Horse Riding/Temperament skill or something.
this is such a silly question. does anyone know if it will be possible to keep horses in apartments from city living or eco lifestyle? or even the sheep and goats perhaps?
Horses in apartments:
They are blocked from entering by default (horses need space). One player did cheat to teleport the horse up though, so might be ways around it or mods in the future.
Minis in apartments:
I haven't tested this, but if they work like chickens, then it might be possible. Will get back to you.
What is the life span of horses? Wondering how long they'll live in comparison to sims.
Horse Lifespan:
I haven't checked exactly, but the Gurus stated that they live almost as long as sims. You could have a child grow up with a foal and be lifelong friends.
It would be cool if you could rent a horse if you're staying in the rental.
Riding other's horses:
Yes. In fact this is how my first test sim (simself) tried riding the first time. You can attempt to ride any horse you see. Whether they will let you stay on their backs... That's another story. You don't need to ask permission either.
