Rachel Franklin sounds and even looks like a politician. She even answers questions like a politician.
I just got done watching an interview with Sean Murray who's developing the game No Man's Sky. It's like night and day difference between these two interviews. Sean is so honest, humble, and straight forward about his game. And you can tell that he loves it too!
With Rachel, she's just... like a politician who is also a car saleswoman. Fake and beats around the bush.
I highly recommend checking No Man's Sky out - the concept is incredible!!!
the hype is gone and, no matter how much hot air rachel blows into it, it's sinking and swirling down like an angry poop.
Pretty much, and Get Together is not going to create any amount of hype for the game. They really should have picked a stronger EP instead of recycling assets from Olympus yet again.
Yeah, re-read the interview and I think I'm even angrier now.
...oh, and this bit:
GC: OK, thank you. That was very intersting.
RF: No problem, I like that you really get it."
TRANSLATION:
RF: Can't believe he bought it! Sucker!!!!
Not only that, it's implying that the rest of the fans, even the long-time ones, are in the wrong, delusional, etc. for not approving of this vision (of a mobile developer ).
Still reading this article and holy wow, Ms. Franklin may not be the wisest choice to represent this franchise in interviews. 0_o "But you don’t want them photorealistic because that’s creepy, that’s just weird." Aaaaaand, you've just insulted every player (who's given you their money to play your game) who enjoys photorealism in their game. I get that some people don't like it and agree with her on the 'creepy' and 'weird' thing, but other players -- who are neither creepy, nor weird -- love photorealism. EA can certainly leave photorealism out of their game if they want, but they don't have to insult people who enjoy it in the process. Anyone who's going to be in the public eye and answering questions about the game should probably look into taking a few lessons in diplomacy first. Lordy.

Any hype there was for Get Together has faded, and it's not likely they'll create anymore buzz for that buzz kill EP. It's sad when you have a pack releasing in under 2 months and there are players who still try to save then hype by pretending we don't know the majority of the packs contents, whereas an un-announced stuff pack is getting more attention from the people playing the game. I feel sorry for the players who will buy this pack on good faith and be disappointed yet again with it's inability to deliver anything.
Hey mods, this isn't feedback. Trying to silence us much?
They always try to silence us.
#BecauseTheyKnowTheyAreWrong
@SimGuruDrake - Please move this back to the General Discussion Thread.
Yeah it's also pathethic imo they move this to 'feedback' this is not even feedback, this is the fanbase response to a stupid interview the executive producer gave about this game.
It seems like they want critisicm threads as far away as possible where the least people will find it.
One thing is clear to me: They don't listen. They say they do, but they don't. But again: If Simmers keep throwing money at them for every disaster they release, they will just keep doing it like this.
Their job depends on us, if we stop buying all their half baked stuff, they will simply don't have a job anymore. Let's see if they regret it by then they did not listen to the community. Absolutely no mercy anymore, because this is getting more pathetic every single day.
We are more than over a year in the series and still this half baked empty shell answers.
All they keep doing is throwing a bone, make us chase it, when we return the bone, they will simply throw it again - repeat.
Yeah, re-read the interview and I think I'm even angrier now.

she should go into politics. i think she'd be awesome bedazzling the lesser sheep unwashed masses with her willfully defective dogmatism strong beliefs, offensive arrogance assured brilliance, and crazy-eyed, vacant gaze steely, driven stare.
Man, while reading the article that the amazing op linked for us to read, thank you btw, you guys just popped up like popcorn!
So basically, EA and Maxis don't give a cr.a.p.olla about our feedback, a lot of what fans have asked for won't be in this game, the game seems more successful in Europe, they're going to continue to do their nickle and diming scheme, no toddlers, no open world, the broad does not have a clue what sims games were like before and will not change her plans to the comfort of all fans, the interviewer is very patriotic (Europe, not America, duh!), to hell with fans, the future of this franchise (TS5) will be based on telemetry (you guess have fun with that), and our voices and outcries for diversity was for not.
Wow. All I can say is, I hope for competition, and I hope to see some of you on the TS2 side of the forums
I wish that Rachel Franklin would RESIGN and let someone with VISION and a true feel for the franchise take over.
Exactly. Rachel is not the right person for this job in this franchise. All she does is turn this franchise into chaos and disaster, because her ''vision'' is the only one that counts. They don't give a plum about their playerbase, they just expect us to throw money at them each other month.
I just tweeted Rachel Franklin saying that that interview is an insult to our intelligence. I'm so sick of being taken for granted.
Not only that she treats us like plum, but also she thinks we forget what they have said before, so many different versions...
Also, this is not a feedback thread!

It would appear the game is more successful in Europe. Twice now they have saved a major unveiling for GamesCom, and skipped E3 that happens right around the corner.
That is something that can change. If TS4 keeps heading in this direction and Paradox makes a life sim that will blow TS4 out of the water, then well bye-bye TS4.
I have a feeling that Paradox will fail on their life simulation game... Something's telling me that they will.

Hey Colton, do you work for EA
i've wondered. he's been jailed several times and this isn't his first "colton" incarnation... so i don't know if that's an inside joke with him and other simgooeys or just the lay of the land.
i suspect he's just a high functioning troll poster who likes rattling peoples' cages and he just fawns over all things ts4 as a way to troll be a provocateur to both us and ea.

Cities Skylines has done exceptionally well for an indie development studio. I would expect the same level of detail be put into other simulation endeavors they may pursue. When you're the only company with that particular product (which they aren't) you always run the risk of competitors one upping you when you deliver a bad game.
If any developer were to take on a life sim, now is the time. EA knows that.

Paradox is much smaller than EA, but it's already done well with Skylines. So far with Skylines, lots of people have been praising it and the review ratings are high both from professional reviewers and the players themselves. Something tells me that Paradox could make a successful life sim.
Plus, have you seen how advanced Skylines is? Imagine what Paradox would be capable of with a life sim.

Of course they dont. Only EA know...
