Making your own resorts

Is there a way of making your own resorts where sims can check-in to? I can see a check-in desk and have built my own hotel/resort but I can't get any sims to check-in, I know we have this option in TS3 but It would just be nice to create a place that is also staffed by generic sims automatically and we can check-in they way we would do if it were a standard resort/hotel.

We hoped for such a feature with Island Living, but to my knowledge we will need to pretend. You could build a restaurant (Dine Out) or other community lot, and add hotel rooms to stay while not eating and lounging by the pool etc. There won't be any check in other than requesting your restaurant table though.

I was going to suggest making it a retail lot and you could pretend sims are checking in when they go to the till, but they don't go to the till do they? (I haven't actually ran a retail store yet so not sure)

I have a 'resort' in Sulani, but it's a beach. My sims just turn up and stay the night in the room there if they want to. No checking in, no other guests.

Maybe there's a mod somewhere to help?

You can change the existing vacation world lots. Not sure if this is what you're looking for but you could definitely tear down a cabin and replace it with a hotel or something. You can even change the lot types to make your own vacation world with night clubs, restaurants, etc..

If you're not opposed to mods, KawaiiStacie has a great one here that lets you own and run (or just visit) a resort. I know it isn't the best way to do this, but it is a way.

No hotels and all these nice worlds.. its just a Huge downer. I just build resorts and sims can visit and stay in these beds for free. I do not like how nothing ever costs them money, same as traveling, entering in clubs, owning clothes etc. We need more details so it feel like an actual simulation.

It's not resorts, but Zerbu has a mod for changing residential worlds to destination ones (if for example there's a residential world you don't use but could make a nice holiday location)

Thanks for all your replys, i'll check out the mods and change a few things within the game, hopefully that will help, but I agree with SERVERFRA, we do need a resort/hotel pack, just like we did in TS3, here's hoping that will be changed in an update, fingers crossed! but right now real life is kicking in and i've got a pile of college work to keep me busy lol. Woudn't it also be great if we had an expansion pack like University but instead of it just being a uni pack we could start our sims off from nursery/kindergarden, throughout middle school, college then uni? have a sim growing up to be a teacher/lecturer, to go through the whole school life like the way we did? don't know about you guys, but i think that would be a very interesting EP

Yeah, I think one of the biggest mistakes was not having sims have to buy clothes. Another mistake not having hotels yet. I have a night club in where out of towners can stay, and have a couple of houses where they can go if visiting Sulani. I also have someone’s Dragon Inn in Oasis springs that is a bar and sleeping quarters. I wish they had a real hotel desk to check in too..... I also wish they had stuff for casino’s.

Where I live, college and uni are the same thing

I changed one of the unoccupied house lots it Sulani to generic. My sims went there for a long weekend. Everything was going well until 2 NPCs showed up in the house. One immediately went to the only bed and the other to the couch. The next night, two additional Sims arrived at the house. None would leave and all were feasting on the extra meals my sims had in the fridge.

What should have been a relaxing, romantic weekend for my parents of five turned into a freakshow.
