Sims 4 unable to go online *solved*

Hi computer guru simmers,

Wonder if you can help me. I have played sims 4 since release on my laptop. Unfortuanatly my laptop is busy dieing a slow death of a display driver that has had to many years behind it. My laptop has been discontinued so can't get a new driver. Sooo I have my kids desktop I can use to play and that is what I am doing, but for some reason I can't go online to my gallery. I have tried just about everything but think I might have missed something as its just not working. This is what I have tried allready

Repaired the game
Clean installed the game
Checked my ingame settings and its for online.

I am running windows 10 which is a little daunting, since my laptop has 7 on it. So would appreciate any step by step advice, as if giving it to a four year old LOL

Just a ps. I am online, I actually go onto the internet while looking for advice, so there is deffinetly not a connection problem as it states in the last pic. So that is my whole problem, I sincerely hope someone can help me. I would like to thank you in advance for reading through my post

Hello
Try shutting down your computer completely. Then restart the computer and see if the issue remains.

When in origin, click the origin label at the top left hand side of the screen and make sure that it says " go offline" as an option. If it says that, it means that you are online.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling origin and see if that helps.

I have tried the restarting a couple of times, so that one does not work.

My origin is deffinetly online as you can see in the screenie the offline option is there


Would I have to reinstall all my games if I uninstall Origin ?

It sounds like something is blocking the game application from connecting to the Gallery. For network troubleshooting assistance please refer to the following EA Support pages:

Try doing what is in the links that SimGuru Nichodemus has posted.

If you do need to uninstall and reinstall Origin anytime, it doesn't affect your games in Origin or your sims 4 save games. You don't have to uninstall /reinstall anything else.

I just tried to uninstall and reinstall Origin, that did not help. I also did some of the easy steps in the link above, but that did not help either. I will wait for my son to help me with the more advanced things, bit scared I will mess up their gaming pc. Only thing I might think can cause this here is we run two origin accounts, my son's and mine, where as on my laptop it was only my account.

I did the one test but it has a lot of ip addresses on it, so is it ok if I private message them to you simguru @Nichaedemus

ok please don't laugh at me but after trying all the links and making changes to the computer I never thought I would in my life, I fixed it. I updated my kids Norton family protection from child and teen to teen and older, it seems child to teen can't go on the gallery LOL. Well thanks so much for all your help simguru @Nichaedemus and for your advice and help @rosemow I can now play my sims online on my kids pc while I save up for a new laptop

I am having the same problem access to the gallery is not available due to internet connection but I know I am currently connect on origin and on computer

Try shutting down your computer completely. Then restart the computer, log in to Origin, launch the game and see if the issue remains.

I don’t have any other computers online or playing Sims at all. I shut my laptop down and everything

There was an issue with the Gallery/going online that all simmers were experiencing but it has been fixed now. You should be able to now connect to the Gallery/go online.

I think I'm having the same problem. My daughter who is 14 can't access the sims 4 gallery. How did you change the child to teen and older?

Depending on which country you are living in, your daughter may have a child account. If you live in Australia, your daughter needs to be 15 years old to access the Sims 4 Gallery. If you live in the US or UK and your daughter still can’t access the Sims 4 Gallery, you may need to be in touch with EA Help to upgrade her from her child account.
