Successfully promote cause in Political Career

I have tried standing at various venues venting, but my daily task does not even say that I have even started no matter how long I protest. People stand around and listen. I have even done this at the podium in Uptown. Is there a special spot to protest? Thanks.

I believe it might be a social interaction. I could be wrong as I haven't explored the career myself but I have watched a few LPs and I think I saw it as such.

Promote cause is an interaction. If your sim spends time conversing with other sims, the option to promote cause should be successful.
