No credit for party

I searched for a solution, but most of this type that came up were pretty old and seemed declared "fixed".

The details:
- Teen with Party Animal aspiration on second tier throws house party and earns (and gets credit for) silver medal, but doesn't get credit for throwing the party.
- Teen is only host, invites 4 guests, only 1 arrives. Five other family members present (but not 'invited'), three other family members participate in achieving goals. One made drinks, but then went off on her own. Two socialized, and together with the host and guest got most of the mood goals.
- I don't recall which family member was active when I ended the party. Now that I know that's a thing, I'll pay more attention. (Edit: I see that another Sim has a Host's Triumph moodlet. I'm guess that means that I ended the party with him active?)

Comments:
- I don't need a fix, I'll just use the cheat when the aspiration should be complete. I'm just providing info in case it helps somehow.
- Parties stress me out as a player. I probably won't do them outside of this legacy challenge.
- During the party I entered build mode and moved a chess table because I wasn't getting options to play that I should have. When I moved the chess table, everyone at the card table in another room were removed from their seats. I only mention it because maybe it 'broke' the party for the host somehow, as the host was one of the sims at the card table.

The issue may have been that they weren't the sim that you were playing when the party ended. Another sim received the hosts moodlet, so your sim hasn't been recognised as being the host, so it wasn't credited for the aspiration.

I'm just curious, but because there is a work-around, does this mean it's no longer considered a bug?

What is the purpose of selecting a host, or selecting multiple hosts, if only the active Sim gets credit at the end? It didn't seem to me that the Sim I selected as host made any difference for goals either.

Hello.
The host is the sim that you have chosen to host the party, so the game would be considering that they would be the active one that you would be playing with at the end of the party as well. Try to have him as the active one at the end, then that will help you get the credit.

Just to follow up:

I've thrown two more parties to complete this tier of the aspiration. For both parties, the same teen sim started the party and was selected as host. Party #2 was gold and party #3 was silver. In both cases I ended the party with the teen sim active and she got credit for both the party count and the medal count. Also in both cases, every sim in the house got the moodlet for Host's Triumph, so my observation from the first party was probably incomplete.

This seems to confirm the conclusion that the sim needs to be active at the end of the party to get credit. (bolded for future reference)

I still feel this is a bug. If it's not a bug then it's an extremely poor design choice. Knowing a work-around may reduce it's severity/priority, but it's still just a work-around, and an exceptionally subtle one at that. A much more obvious condition should be the sim actively starts the party and/or is a host. In every thread I found on this topic, that was the major source of confusion.

Thankyou for updating us on what happened with the other parties as well. It is helpful for other simmers to be aware that the sim needs to be the active sim at the end of the party.

I'm still stuck at 1/3 even after having thrown 14 parties. If anyone knows how to fix this PLEASE say something!

To get to the next stage of the aspiration you can use the cheat ( after first typing in testingcheats true)
aspirations.complete_current_milestone
