Gurus Please Fix Generation Achievement ??

I never knew this until recently, but found out the 26th generation and the 100th generation achievement is not obtainable if you enter CAS through the challenge, that is you could be at 10th generation and it will reset as soon as you go into CAS, is this a bug?? I'm sure it is because otherwise it is pointless having dressers, mirrors etc??. I find this extremely sad and futile. I enter CAS for all my sims so there is no incentive to keep playing my legacy to obtain these milestones.
