Can't run origin offline，it pop up “can't find update tool.exe"error

My suggestion would be to uninstall then reinstall Origin.

@7hang this so happened to me as well and dont be annoyed i honestly dont even know what fixed this. a week ago i couldnt run origin offline and i couldnt access the desktop while in the game, i restarted and restarted my system and game, still having to turn on origin to start game.

i do have a theory i recently played around with my friends list in origin. i accepted friends and changed my online profile. not sure if this is the trick needed but i can say its the only thing beside a possible windows updates that i did differently

the fix for the desktop for most is turning off origin in game here origin/application settings/origin in game and unclicking Enabled in Origin

I've started getting that message every time I switch my computer on, I didn't realise it might be related to the Sims 4 or origin. I cannot play offline.
