WANTED: Island Paradise Nectary. 500sp Bounty. Closed, winner chosen!

Island Paradise is desperately in need of a good Nectary, and they want YOU to build it. Actually, the entire Exchange is in need of good Nectary’s, so you’ll be doing everyone a big favor. But for me, it’s worth 500sp to the best Nectary for my Island Paradise game. (IP also needs a good Dojo, keep your eyes open for that contest coming soon.)

The Basics:

Your entry is one Nectary on a 30x20 lot. It will be placed on 25 Paradise Road in IP.
The contest is open immediately and closes Sep 22nd at 7PM CST.
No C.C. All EP’s, SP’s, and Store Content allowed (except Sweet Treats, sorry).
One entry per person.
Judging will be on photos, so max 10 photos allowed.
The prize is 500sp of items from your wishlist, and may be transferred if desired.

The Specifics:

If you have IP, you can use the 30x20 lot on 25 Paradise Road. If you don’t have IP or don’t like loading it up, place a 30x20 (30 side is road side) lot.
In Edit Town, set lot type to Community->Nectary
You will need to open Buydebug to place the minimum requirements, and World Adventures is required.
The word “Nectary” must be in your contest entry name, so that it will show in a search on the Exchange.

Minimum Item Requirements:
One L’amour des Fruits Nectar Maker. (found in Buy->Debug->Misc. Objects)
One each of all 10 WA fruits – 6 grapes, 4 trees. (found in Buy->Debug->Gardening Plants)
One Nectary Register. (found in Build->Community Objects->Misc. Objects)

Judging Criteria:

My favorite Nectary wins, meaning the one I end up using in my game. It must meet the minimum requirements of course. It must also be uploaded to the Exchange, and the Exchange version must match the photo entry. I enjoy creativity and originality, keeping in mind that it is going in IP so if it looks really out of place, even if it's the most awesome Nectary ever, it probably won’t win. Ultimately, I would suggest that you build a Nectary that you would use in your own game – to please yourself rather than me – so that even if you don’t win you have built something useful that makes you happy.

Sponsorship:

Sponsors are certainly welcome.

    F.A.Q.

    How do I open Buydebug?
    To open Buydebug,
Press ctrl-shft-c – then type “testingcheatsenabled true” (without the quotes)
Press ctrl-shft-c – then type “buydebug on” (without the quotes)
Now when you go to Buy tab there should be a little box with a “?” which allows you to buy most of these items.
When you are done you may turns cheats back off with ctrl-shft-c and “testingcheatsenabled false” (without the quotes)

I don’t have WA, can I still enter?
Yes, technically you could. You would need to place other trees and plants, as well as some kind of register, in place of the required ones. The main drawback to your entry is you will need to find something to replace the Nectar Maker and you will lose that opportunity to recolor the Nectar Maker in your original style. Please make note of all replacements needed, both in your photo entry and on the Exchange.

It's the T rating version of a Winery. In World Adventures Sims could visit France and find all new kinds of fruits, as well as a Nectar Maker. Since WA is buggy and many Challenges/Legacy's don't allow travel anyway, the only way for Sims that don't/can't travel to get these fruits and Nectar Making items is to cheat or place a Nectary. I'm going for the "place a nectary" option. Trouble is, last time I searched for a Nectary on the exchange, about two weeks ago, a grand total of *one* nectary showed up. So... a contest.

Once it stops raining in my game, I'll take some screenshots of the empty lot and surrounding area for those that don't have IP, to give a good idea of what the area looks like.

Right now, it's Spring and it only seems to stop raining for a few hours at night. Soon though, soon...

Consider Sponsoring! Maybe an extra 50sp incentive to the winner, or maybe 100-200sp to your own favorite. :)

Oh nice! I love the nectar making skill and I love Isla Paradiso!

Great! I hope you can enter or sponsor then. :)

I know it's fast, sorry. I don't imagine the winner being that complex of an entry though, not for such a small commercial lot. Hope you can make it!

I saw this, and I actually started creating one. It is basic, atm, but I hope to be able to liven it up a wee bit more. I hope that I will be able to get it done in time. If not, at least I will be able to use it for myself. I am trying to work it where my sim is growing the plants though instead of using the ones in buydebug. I have all of them, but they are all perfect. This makes a great starting point for great nectar. hehe :lol:

Well, I am off to do some more work on it & hope to have it done soon. :D:mrgreen:

    Wisteria Grove Nectary

    Exchange link:
    http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=7668347

    Description:
This small nectary is a favourite stop for both residents and visitors to Isla Paradiso alike. The Wisteria Grove Nectary was one of the first businesses in this scenic little town, now dominated by luxury resorts, dive spots and other flashy tourist ammenities. Although this little nectary has never been modernised like most of the island surrounding it, it still possesses its original charm, making this an all-time favourite hangout for the nectar-loving community of Isla Paradiso.

    Pictures:
    WGNectary1.jpg

Welcome to Wisteria Grove Nectary! Please come inside and take the tour of our facilites.

    WGNectary2.jpg

This is our courtyard restaurant. We have a light menu of snacks, various hot beverages and scrumptious delicatessen to choose from. Here you can enjoy the lovely ocean view under our wisteria canopy, or see if wishes do come true in the courtyard fountain.

    WGNectary3.jpg

The back portion of our nectary is where you will get to see some of our perfect fruits, so fresh that they are still growing! We have an automated sprinkler system installed to ensure that all of our fruits on the premesis are just as well cared for, as they are in our production vineyards. You can even pick your own and try your hand at making your very own batch of nectar.

    WGNectary4.jpg

This is the inside of our shop. We have a wide variety of fine nectars available for you to purchase. All of our snacks are made fresh by local bakers, and you will not likely find anything more delicious in all of Isla Paradiso!

    WGNectary5.jpg

This is our tasting room. Here you will see the bust of our founder, Dr. Merlot, as well as some of our nectar's numerous awards and accolades. Kick back and enjoy some of our best (and worst) nectars in the comfort of our luxurious tasting lounge. The restrooms are conveniently close by in case of emergancies...

    WGNectary6.jpg

Down in our cellar underneath the shop, you will get to see our nectar manufacturing plant. Each nectar barrel is aged to perfection and conveys the subtle aromas to our nectars as they age. If you are feeling particularly brave, you can even try your own hand at making nectar down here!

    WGNectary7.jpg

We have a convenient resting room to keep you occupied while you wait for your nectar to mature. (Please note: All amenities in this back room, are only available to guests who are on the nectar-maker's tour.)

    WGNectary8.jpg

A bird's eye-view of our nectary cellar dos not do it's majestic grace justice! Come experience the sights, sounds and smells of Wisteria Grove Nectary for yourself!
    You won't be disappointed.

Spent some time on my nectary today, but I am more than pleased with the end result! Officially my first residential lot - Yay!

Thanks for the great idea of adding a nectary to Isla Paradiso, SimonSimpson!!! The spot you picked out is just about perfect, especiallly with the little house so close by - My nectary owners will be moving in there soon!

Looking forward to see everyone else's nectaries!

P.S - AmbaAesthetic, your nectary is great!!! I have downloaded it, and will be giving it a permanent residance in Appaloose plains.
