Reverse Rainbows: A Rainbow Legacy (updated 02/13/14)

In the world of Berry Sims, color is everything. Passing on the color gene is the begin all, end all of their existence. Pale Berries and White Berries are deemed as gods for their ability to easily pass on any color bred with them. Into this world is the Mist family, blessed with the amazing genetics of pale ice blue and pale yellow. The possibilities of the eventual breeding is limitless.
And then Pepper was born. A strange mutation that gave her nearly all black skin and hair, she is what is known as a Soiled Berry. Where Pale and Whites can easily pass on any color and are seen as selfish because they "reflect" all colors back, a Soiled Berry is the opposite. Black reflects nothing and is notoriously harder to breed color into the line.
Hidden away for most her life, Pepper knows she has no chance to find a lover and produce children of her own. Her colors end with her. That is, until Pomegranate Crush walks up to her door and into her life. For the first time, she feels accepted by another Berry. What secrets does Pomegranate possess? And what will happen to them should they decide to have a child? The Council of the Berries has only recently ended their law of killing Soileds on sight, but breeding? That could spell trouble for Pepper.
Can she bring about the wonderful colors desired by her people, or will her line end in failure? If she does produce colorful children, will they continue her fight for equality, or will they bask in the glory of their acceptance. What adventures await the future generations as they move from Soiled to full colored Berries?

Vanilla and her parents are awful! Poor Pepper should have been treated better because of her "condition," but instead she's been ostracized by her whole family. That's just markedly unfair! I can't wait to see the guy who sees through the "taint" for the girl underneath!
I got the idea after thinking about rainbows and colors. Since we see color as what is reflected back, and white reflects all colors while black reflects none, it just made sense to me to that there could be a Berry society like that. And it is easier to breed in color with paler colors, so I saw it as a challenge. I'm still not sure what kind of kids Pepper will have (not quite there yet in my gameplay).
Yeah, Vanilla and her parents aren't really the best members of society. It's how they were raised, so they don't see it as being cruel to Pepper. Pomegranate shows up next chapter, and I just adore him. He's such a cutie.
Thank you! I wanted to try something a little different. I've gotten so much enjoyment reading other Rainbowcies and wanted to do one of my own. Since the rules state you start with a neutral Sim (of white, black, or brown, I believe), I picked a color I don't recall seeing before. After this, I hope to have a town filled with colorful Sims.

Cool! I've got enough written so far to keep an update a week. If I keep this up, though, I'll have to slow down on the heir vote time. Can't keep writing if I don't know the heir. But that's a ways off.

I always play them with onyx-black sims, but never am able to write them.
Cool! I didn't think anyone else started with dark sims.
Chapter One will be uploaded on Friday. You'll finally get to meet Pomegranate Crush, one of the better looking guys I've ever made.
By the way, you might consider putting a link to your chapters in a post (other than the first one), so people can just click on the link when they check to see what your latest post is (if that makes sense...)!

Yeah, they are pretty horrible. One member of her family does get a slight redemption, but not for a while.
