So, I've apparently adopted a cat. The guy who lived here before (was subletting it from us) left his cat...I've never had one before. If someone has one - what kind of food do you feed it? How much? How often? This cat is old and doesn't seem to have teeth so I guess I have to stick to the wet food?

I'm much more of a dog person. We are going to try and get a hold of the guy who was here, but if we can't we will have to bring it to the SPCA or another shelter. The wet food we got for tonight just says to split it into 2 or more meals..but I don't want to under feed it.
I like cats For ours, we just leave dry cat chow out all day and they eat whenever they feel like it. You'd think they'd get fat - but ours don't. Since yours doesn't have teeth, I'd definitely go with wet food. If you buy the 5.5 oz cans, I suggest starting with 1/2 of the can and see if it scarfs it all down. If it does, give it a little more. I used to have a really old cat (17 years) and she only ate 1/2 a can in the morning and again in the evening. But she also snacked on the dry stuff occasionally.
