  • I assume there will be other rules from other packs if you own them. I would be shocked if they haven't added No Cats/No Dogs/No Pets rules, for example.
  • I appreciated seeing more details about unit configuration and setting rent, but - without meaning to sound too harsh - I found numerous parts of the the dialogue difficult to understand due to the voice actor's accent.
  • There are two-story units shown in the 6-unit trailer that was posted on Twitter.
  • According to SimGuruNinja, there will be a cheat to allow for more than 6 units. Otherwise, you could remove the furniture from a few of the rooms and stick blinds or curtains over the windows so you can't see that they're empty. (I think any rooms that aren't units will be treated as common areas, so your sims will be…
  • Wow. That's a pretty robust trailer to capture the imagination of potential players, and the kind of thing I've wanted to see out of other life sim games on the horizon. There's some stuff I'd hope for - somewhere to live other than a city, more variety in faces (assuming they were going for a white blond woman, she just…
  • I think if there were elevators, they would have shown them in the trailer in some way. I'm going to guess they're not included.
  • EXPANSION PACKS - Bands/Music. I'd love more instruments, including a range of rock and traditional instruments (drums, saxophone, flutes, etc). The ability to form a band the way we do with clubs, and then put on a show or perform somewhere. - Cars. I want actual cars for our sims to own, drive, or sit in. The pack should…
  • I think for the purposes of the game, they'll probably just simplify it. The item will act as a slow cooker, pressure cooker and rice cooker, because they're unlikely to make a separate appliance for each of those specific real-world uses.
  • The only thing I wish I knew for sure was some more details about costs. When I normally build a lot, I keep in mind the budget my family will have and keep an eye on the lot value. It's harder to try and build residential rentals right now without knowing how rental costs, etc will work.
  • Also I think this may be the first time I've participated in a "positive thoughts" thread pre-EP in all my years on this forum. That's how ready I am for multi-family dwellings lol
  • I think they're using other content from packs not mentioned. The doors on the 4-unit townhouses in San Sequoia are from the Strangerville pack, I'm pretty sure. Overall, it doesn't bother me because I view this trailer as an advertisement for the feature of building in any world, rather than as a trailer explicitly for…
  • Never been happier to be wrong about a concern than right now. I have been wanting to move my 7-member family into a trailer park for so long, and to be able to do that and still get another five 8-member households in the trailer park... this is easily the most excited I've been about a pack in a while!
  • Details based on this trailer: 1) We can build at least 6 units on a lot. 2) Houses with 2 units still have one of the new 3-box mailboxes outside of them. Possible there will only be the 3-box mailbox and the large multi-box mailbox included in the pack. 3) Exterior spaces enclosed by a fence or half-wall may not be…
  • Well, it's more limiting than I'd like - in the trailer parks I've been working on, having one door into the unit and another door out into an enclosed area sort of ruins my "grungy trailer with just a chair and an old grill outside the front door" style. I'm a little surprised, given fences and half-walls are created very…
  • Six units is great news - and it was especially nice to see the trailer confirm that units do NOT have to be touching (all the ones in the reveal trailer had connecting walls). It doesn't look like any of the exterior elements, like gardens or balconies, are ever considered part of the unit even when fully enclosed by a…
  • I'm curious to know if it will involve anything beyond dabbing. How will other sims treat a cringe sim? Will it make social interactions harder, will it be tougher to make friends, etc? Will it provide anything for a sim that I can't already get with the Socially Awkward/Loner traits? If there's nothing to the trait but…
  • I know it looks like there are a lot of mailboxes included here, but if you look closely, you can see that the image is mostly a flat texture. If you look at the third row down, the second box and sixth box have different edges to all of the boxes around them, which suggests they may have a 3D component and actually open.…
  • I usually worry when they give that kind of evasive answer - it's almost always followed by a disappointing answer, and then a quick re-direct ("We're going to allow 2 families - for this pack we really wanted to focus on the deep gameplay and meaningful relationships you can form with your neighbors"). In this case, the…
  • I'm keeping an eye out for some specific details - max number of sims living on the lot, max number of households living on the lot, whether separate buildings can be made into subunits - because some of those things could alter my opinion of the pack. If the things I mentioned above all work the way I'd like them to, then…
  • @EgonVM I think there are two mailbox options - the large wall mailbox that we've seen up close and on the cover art, and what appears to be an outside multi-family mailbox (in at least two swatches, red and white). The outside mailbox would be better suited to any multi-family lots without a shared inner lobby/hallway,…
  • I would be surprised if they were wrong! The relevant bit: From here: https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/news/for-rent-expansion-pack
  • According to one of the accompanying blogs, residential rental lots can be placed in any of the worlds, not just the new one in the EP.
  • No, it hasn't been confirmed. In the trailer, the most number of sims you can see on the lot at any given time is 12. Either: 1) Residential rentals have a limit of 8 or 10 sims, and some of the sims on the lot are just visiting. 2) Residential rentals have a limit of 12 sims, slightly higher than the roommate max. 3)…
  • Pretty sure that's a "For Rent" sign. You can see it outside several of the buildings in the trailer. My guess it's either purely decor, or it's functional and you click on it to access settings for the property such as rental prices and availability.
  • The trailer gives me the impression that there will be 10 sims on a lot max, like a tweaked version of the roommate system. Not what I was hoping for in terms of having a large family living in a multi-family lot.
  • The image and their youtube tagline - "Take a peek at the neighbor's secrets..." - make the leaked info seem accurate. If true, I'm excited for the potential that multi-family lots could hold. My sims have been waiting to live in a functional trailer park forever :D
  • Thanks! I don't see anything in that video other than the leaked features list that's now in the first post in this thread. The features list includes different rental scenarios, including: "a basement suite", "a duplex to keep 2 families close" or "even apartments", and the order of the list reads like the number of…
  • Was this confirmed somewhere?
