Help! I've been away from my build for a while and then I got Covid which knocked me on my bum for almost a week. When I opened the game today to make color adjustments, I found this! What are they and how did they get there? More importantly, how can I get rid of them? I tried to copy them using the eye dropper and it can't be selected. I reset the lot. I saved the family and saved the lot to the library, bulldozed the building, and put the lot back in. None of this worked.
Yes, I know how to do Save As. I know I should have been saving my build to the library. Sadly, I didn't do either of those things with this build, I just saved the world over previous versions. <cry> I hope someone can help me correct this. I don't want to start all over again!

OK... so those are the dreaded floating tiles than can be a pain. Some folks just delete them with the sledgehammer tool, however I prefer to do it the following way since deleting can leave gaps in your ceiling IF they are misplaced ceiling tiles.
Simply add floor tiles of a different colour along the edges where the tiles appear. They delete them using the flooring tool. And they should be gone.

edited to add: No missing ceiling tiles. I continue to use Save As while I make minor modifications and test the lot with a couple with two children, two toddlers, and a horse.

Well, I may have to rebuild my entire farm from scratch. I found more stray floor tiles and missing ceiling tiles on the back porch. I will try to remove the strays and replace the others, but I'm not hopeful at this point. Multiple roofs are a royal pain! It may take me the entire time just to build this one lot. I'm a perfectionist, and this is maddening for me. I had to build the roof five times to get them all right, and every time I had to do the dormer roofs, I had to empty the entire upstairs to the bare walls, then put everything back again.
First try the same method as before by adding and removing tiles at the back as well.
Then for the missing ceiling tiles… drag and pull flooring from below to paint the ceiling and hopefully they snap back into place.
You can remove the ceiling paint afterwards.
If you still see gaps in the ceiling, just go back up a level to remove and replace the ceiling tiles in that area.
Either of the two options above should fix the tiles. Sometimes you might need to extend and remove the temporary flooring tiles further out from the structure to catch them all.
Good luck 🤗
