Disable Neighbourhood Stories

I’ve been wondering ever since this update has been released…
Why in the Sims universe would EA release a potentially game-ruining update without giving us the freedom to disable it? I personally have not touched the Sims 4 ever since Neighbourhood Stories was released. However, in an article today, I read a new update enables neighbourhood sims to accidentally die.
I’m the simmer who grinds hours beyond hours of making my sims perfect without cheats. Max level career, level 10 skills… and now they have the risk to die? There has to be some people out there who agree with me, right? There is. I’ve seen many Reddit pages and google help questions asking how we turn off Neighbourhood Stories. Who else thinks not providing us with a disable setting was the worst mistake EA has ever made?
I am not touching my precious sims until EA gives us the disable setting we all need and have been begging for.
