Then comes the crash. Tried game reset, removing mods folder and clearing the cache files, no luck. Even added Sims 3 to program settings in the Nvidia control panel per the only info I could find on the below error.

Given what you've already tried, a dxdiag is probably in order. You can post the results at pastebin.com or some other free filesharing site and provide a link here.

And do you happen to have an antivirus or firewall program running? Some of them are incompatible with EA products.

I don't see anything obvious, other than the error reports that TS3 and TS4 have been crashing a lot. You mentioned Nvidia Control Panel; have you set vsync to on or adaptive for TS3? An Nvidia 750 ti needs its frame rates limited manually, since TS3 at least has no working fps limiter of its own. You'd use TS3w.exe (with the "w") for a disc or Steam install. And CP doesn't work in windowed mode. Have you set up any other program to limit fps, like Nvidia Inspector? Do you have any other programs running alongside the game?

Unless someone else has more ideas, I'd probably start by trying to play without an internet connection, just to see if the crashing has something to do with connecting to EA servers. That would explain why both games keep crashing. (For TS4, you can login to Origin, put it in offline mode, and disconnect.)

The next step would be to do a clean boot and launch TS3, to make sure no other apps are running in the background and interfering.

Not sure why TS4 is coming up, that runs fine. Using TS3 disks (on 1.67), no Nvidia Inspector. I kinda wonder if it's Origin. I had uninstalled Sims 4 and Origin and had no problem.. will double-check if I have the right TS3 in CP and try clean boot.

    Thanks for your help puzzlezaddict.

Update: TS3w.exe added, still no dice. Turns out my last played save was corrupt. Grabbed older version - no more crashes.
