It's fall in my save, and my sim had his heater on since it was cool out. I get the notice he is burning to death...
As you can see, it is fall, it is cool, and his heater was on...
I turn the heater off and Air conditioner on and change him into his "hot" attire (summer clothes). And get the notice three more times...
I had him take a shower to try and cool off, he's in his summer clothes and the AC is on and I can't get the buff to go away (the temp even changed to hot now, but the AC is on!). I even got desperate and Cheated it away with UI Cheats mod (right clicked it) and it came right back. Twice!
This is the second time this has happened to one of my sims out of nowhere! I need to know what to do to get the buff to go away. I don't want my sim to die.

It sounds like it is the opposite to what is occurring with the issue in this AHQ EA thread. There was though a simmer who posted a similar issue to yours,

I didn’t get burning to death but my sim got an uncomfortable moodlet for being too hot after drinking tea as well. It was spring and warm out.
Thank you rosemow, but they'd want to run a test with no mods and this is pretty random and mods and cc is very heavy in this save file. To the point that I couldn't play it for several sims days without my mods folder to test. Thank you, though.
Matter of fact, I think he did just drink a cup of tea. Maybe even two. He didn't have winter clothes on, just his everyday. I was more disturbed by the buff not going away once I turned the ac on and put him in his hot weather clothes. But, I will bet you are right. I bet it was the tea. I'll test this more when I go back to that save tomorrow. Thanks!
I'm betting ya'll are right. It's tied to the tea. At least I know what to watch out for now.
I just found another thread about this issue

It seems like using the thermostat or new clothing categories may lead to death by overheating or freezing.
But it seems like drinking coffee or tea may lead to overheating during the neutral temperatures.
Thanks @rosemow I did some testing and yep, it's that third cup of coffee or tea that causes the "burning to death" buff. The second one causes a Overheating buff and the 3rd cup causes a burning to death.
I can assure you, I drink coffee all day, year round and I've never "burned to death" because of it. I hope they fix this. I can understand the uncomfortable buff, cause it does heat ya up, but they need to change that burn to death buff over a drink. Thanks for a link to that thread. It was informative.
I didn't even think of the moodlet solver! Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. Cause I have no intention of stopping my sims from drinking tea and coffee.
