"Can You Run It," says No. Now What?

I tried the Can You Run It thing, and everything passes with flying colors...except my CPU. Am I screwed basically?

This is what it said...

Minimum: Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ (2.0 GHz Dual Core required if using integrated graphics)
You Have: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5500 @ 2.80GHz

I upgraded this thing to Play Sims 3, but it still lags in Buy/Build mode but the game itself runs fine. I don't want to spend the money on Sims 4 and have it not work. Am I looking at my only option being a whole new PC?

    Hello,

Could you post the rest of your system specifications - the 'System' and 'Display' sections of a DxDiag report please.

    Thanks,

I'm a little worried about your RAM and the lack of it. The pagefile seems to suggest you had more RAM at one point, and your model comes with 4GB of RAM standard. It sounds like either your RAM sticks have come loose, or they have broken.

But for everything else, your system should be playing medium-high or high settings.

I hope this helps and keep simming,

Well that sounds bad. When I check my RAM on the system it says 10.0GB Installed Memory. Would I need to check inside to see if that's still true?

Oh, okay that makes more sense. I thought you had only 1GB but I misread it. Everything looks perfectly fine :)

    Happy simming!
