My pet is invisible! How can I fix it?

I have tried resetsim to no avail. I do not want to split the families up and back and loose my wishes..etc... 
I moved the family into a new home. They were all visible when I saved and closed the game. But now, the cat is gone. I mean, she's THERE, I can see her little plumb and can make her do stuff, but no one else can select her to do anything and I cant shift click to do anything...
Oddly, she should have died...she's reached the max of her age and everything...but I think with her being invisible...sigh who knows...
any ideas?

Mastercontroller can probably do something but I don't know it that well
