Included in the list are venues I'd like to see in the Sims 4. This is clearly not a comprehensive list. I did not list any Lots like the Police Station or a Town Hall type place, or even the Detective's Office.

Love the subcategories for lots, would love if they would suggest also furniture suitable for the style of the lot. Like if you are going to build a 50's diner then the furniture options they show would fit that description. We also need suitable music to fit the theme, and would be nice if sims couldn't change the channel autonomously.
I would like some additional roof build pieces for the roofs, like we had in TS2 for the mansard roof, with outer and inner corner pieces. It's quite a pain to build mansard type roofs with current options. Would also like some wall decals that we could place on exterior walls, like decorative borders around windows, doors, corners of buildings, etc. We also need some more modern tiles for kitchen and bathrooms, with modern tile sizes and settings and colours.

I agree especially with the mansard roof. Consider that added. As for the music, I too think that it is important for ambiance in certain types of restaurant and venues. In Sims 3 keeping the cannel on the same channel was done by use of specific speakers that played only one channel and was unable to be changed. I loved this feature. I dont want patrons coming in and changing the music if there is no Jukebox.

More ceiling options
for fancy castles palaces and mansions
and big wooden ceiling beams
closed options to doors that are forever open
like the castle gate door for example or option to click on door to set it open or closed maybe? ideally they'd work but even if not at least have option with the door closed as swatch or something
I also wish we had thicker greek/roman/castle style columns
(and that columns would show in live mode
and that round rooms would not cause broken ceilings *sighs*)
Sub-categories for lots, I don't know... There are too few lots for these. If we ever get an ability to have multiple lot types on one lot, maybe.
Even then, I'd just like the non-subcategory lot type too. Otherwise, I fear that with some lot types (especially on retail lots, as new DLC keeps on coming) is just going to restrict creativity...
But yeah, wall measurements and floor measurements being shown when placing it would be awesome to have (like we had in The Sims 2 and 3).

I honestly have no idea of what you are talking about we have had lot assignments since Sims 1. What I am suggesting is a combination of the lot assignments we already have done in a way with the drop down menu that makes it more organized and easier to find a particular lot type. I simply added a ton more categories, for example of different types of bars. You aren't going to A bar, you are going to A Blues Bar. You aren't having dinner at a restaurant, you are going to a Greek Taverna. You can already make these kinds of lots but with this you can say what kind bar it would be. If you don't think having a bunch of new categories for the drop down in the Community Lot window won't inspire creativity I don't know what to tell you. Considering I consult all kinds of sources to come up with just about all the major types of bars, restaurants, and retail based on what we can currently create. I may not have listed all the different kinds but I got a good chunk. Also when they add DLC, let's just go with Weaving then they can add Retail - Rug Store to the list or even to the Furniture Store, or even to the Art Gallery if it was a piece of wall art. Sculpture work being sold would go to the Art Gallery already listed. Glassblowing could be Jewelry Store, Furniture Store or Art Gallery depending on the piece. Same thing with Sewing and Pottery Making. The idea is that as things are added they can be incorporated in what is already there or new categories can be added.
Furthermore Sims 3 took the lot assignments to another level by making certain lots more attractive to certain types of Sims. The Vampire Lounge attracted Vampires. The Criminal Dive Bar attracted more criminals and Sims with certain types of personality traits to hang out there. Even if Sims 4 chose not to do this we would still have a more diverse and inclusive types of community lots.

You can already choose a specific type of music for a venue by choosing the appropriate wall speaker in bb, and the channel can't be changed. Or are you talking about something else?
great list @redrogue60 It's so expansive- it even dwarfed my mind from looking for more basic build buy and tools to add. If anything comes to mind, I will come back to add.
oh(!) here are few-
Maybe Better filters would help a lot. Also if I could alter sizes of certain items to fit the space. Interior design criteria are both style and exact size fitting to the space, and bracket keys don't cut it all the time.

Yes, lot assignments have always been there, though in The Sims 1, it was just residential and community (The Sims 2 is almost the same). Community lots can be anything there. You can have a bar and a store on one lot (which you cannot do in The Sims 4, as only certain lot types fill in certain roles).
About making lot more attractive to certain sims, that I see lot traits can be for. After all, currently, there is one lot trait that attracts vampires to the lot, and Moonwood Mill bar is coded to attract occult sims. Plus not to mention lot traits that attract celebrities and university students. The idea is simple: not to make more lot types (one bar lot type is enough), but add more lot traits which attract different types of sims.
The main reason I'm against making retail store an assigned type is simply because they don't always remember to add pack integration to previous packs (even when a feature comes through a patch). I have a lot of examples: Horse Ranch traits not having self-discovery momentsor any affect on social compatibility, no fears and little wants from pre-High School Years packs, Social Bunny not allowing to make posts on other pack things, no post-Discover University skill optional electives (except knitting), Eco Lifestyle traits weren't included in club trait restrictions (they are now), no werewolf occult activities included for club rules (even when other occults' are), no pre-Snowy Escape special sentiments etc etc etc. If we are simply going to make separate retail lot types which allow only certain items to be sold, it would be a headache for both the community and developers.
I like the openness of the retail store system there currently is. Sometimes, I just want to make a store where it sells both flower arrangements and birthday cakes.
For me, the lot name is the main thing that makes the vibe. Still, as I told, I feel like lot traits can help out here a lot. After all, it allows many types of lots be attractive to students and celebrities for now.
While my thoughts were scrambled, in the end, the main thing I fear is that lack of pack integration. They don't always remember to do those integrations, it's a lot to remember after all.
I think you would still be able to create regular lots. The subcategories would act somewhat like traits and would add a little something more. Like maybe a book cafe would attract sims that like to read or even write books not just coffee lovers. And maybe they could add some specific lot interactions like a book reading night or a book exchange/donation day, or specific coffee recipes, something a bit more that would enhance the experience. Bars have specific events for each day of the week, maybe we could have something similar for other lot types.

It's pretty much how it worked in Sims 3. They had a lot of the lots I mentioned but they were just specifically called Vampire lounge instead of Bar - Vampire Lounge. The Sub-categories thing is me preferring to having like things grouped and alphabetically. The other simmer is just getting caught up in my organization method.

Theres an issue with changing color swatches and the bubble goes far out of. the viewing plane, and when you widen the viewing plane to outerspace, it's hard to see the swatch pattern difference. I think there's a hot key to toggle the swatches, have to look it up, but they should have something else that doesn't do that.

like you either have to make room delete the walls whatever or place like 3 tiles of floor at once?
same about the round shapes why do they come with 1 extra tile each side when all you really needed was the round part i do not understand
sure I could make saved rooms just for this purpose but its just so unneededly complicated
like how much time would I have saved if I didn't have to resize everything before putting it on my build
