Pretty much. It seems when they pivoted, they basically had enough time to adapt the server/client they had to a completely local game and that's it. I think SimCity has become a cautionary tale and that TS4 was just on too tight of a schedule to successfully pivot. I don't think they'll attempt always-online with TS5 (but…
Extra input on that: CASt would have bogged down load times (only if you choose to add lots of CASt items but nevertheless) and Open World would have made the game more hardware intensive. So while personally I think this was a result of the Online intentions, it's possible they would have still chosen to exclude them for…
No, we had heard from former employees, and seen the concept art, but this left a lot of room for speculation over the years as to what happened to the concept, whether the employee was making it up out of spite, etc. (and most recently, people claiming Olympus was actually The Sims Mobile the whole time) EA would never…
Let me clarify - The Sims Mobile UI is not Olympus. It's a completely different UI project. I have looked at the decompiled Sims Mobile code. The closest similarity they have is the decision to use blue plumbobs for other players.
Heya, nah I highly doubt any of it is active. It's likely just scraps that they didn't clean up so as far as the game engine is concerned, they might as well not exist. The Sims Mobile is a completely different game from The Sims 4. It uses an engine from EA's Firemonkey studios. So other than models/textures, none of the…
There's no reason why they couldn't add it except for the fact it's the type of thing you need to design from the beginning. The sims 3 objects have several "layers" to them, which allowed you to do things like pick colors for bed sheets, bed frame, etc. The sims 4 objects, because they weren't designed with this feature…
No, I'm sorry - your definition of an MMO is off. For something to be an MMO it must only be capable of a 'massive' amount of players hosted in the same server. Some would have called Simcity an MMO, some wouldn't dare. But having an offline mode does not prevent a game from being considered an MMO if it also has an online…
I also don't know what you mean by only know how a game is "configured"... what we have access to, while incomplete, is factual code. It's programmatic - what we see is what precisely runs. If you mean to say I deal only in Tuning mods, you are mistaken - I have decompiled the game's source code and UI code. And again,…
Link to Chi Chan's comments & Guru confirmation please? I'm interested. But the term MMO is a very vague one. People do not stick to a strict definition. For example I think the amount of sims you can interact with on Sims Mobile would not qualify as a "massive" multiplayer online by many people's definitions. For that…
It's not Olympus, I've looked at the code and it does rely heavily on TS4 assets, though modified, and there are design elements that were present in Olympus, but it's a completely different engine, borrowing game controllers from firemonkey studios, EA's mobile sector. Also if you watch the concept video, it's very clear…
@SimGuruModSquad Seems I missed a few resource types. Can you tell us what the following resources are? 17C0C281 18F3C673 20D81496 BC80ED59 C0084996 Also if you have time soon, the BT for terrain meshes, terrain height map, or 3BF8FD86 (lot parameters) would be awesome!
FullHouse is one of my mods, it still works, hasn't needed any update in quite some time actually  I assume people sometimes forget how to do the commands and claim it's broken, but every time I've checked it's still working fine.
Hey SGMS, thanks for the file descriptions! Proposal, if it's easier for you (not sure), would it be better if you just provided a list of the properties for each file and I created the .BT myself? I've been able to map out a few properties on my own but without knowing what exactly is in each file it can be hard to do.…
prove is a strong word considering they won't actually provide evidence, but the testimony combined with the PR behavior of Project Vie and their lack of showcasing talent is enough for me to say definitively, it's a troll or scam. Also I highly doubt EA is threatened in the slightest by this display. There's no…
I'm sorry but nothing about this Project Vie points to an actual company, or even competence. They've shown nothing beyond a logo and their website is literally just a domain redirect to a tumblr with the words "Project Vie". Don't get your hopes up, it'll probably be a kickstarter that will never come to fruition.
Right, I need someone with this issue so this forum seems the most likely to find such a person. If this works, it would provide a solution for that problem.
