Just letting you all know that I'm going to be spending more time at another Sims site. I'm not caring for the atmosphere on this one nowadays. The other one is more welcoming.

  • I think a lot of people just want some clarity as to where this series is going next. I, myself, refuse to speculate. I have a strong feeling this series is not going to go in the direction that a lot of people want, and that may be due to the limitations of the current game engine. I have a hard time getting excited about…
  • I was actually getting ready to fix myself a big bowl of popcorn and pour myself a large soda over ice. Then I only have to sit back and watch the fun while I munch away.
  • Color me stubborn, but it doesn't validate diddly to me. That render was merely meant as a present to the CEO and his family; SimGurus have stated that repeatedly, and yet players persist in calling them liars. And just because the person in question used to be the voice of toddlers doesn't mean she is filling the same…
  • Of course it is...but where's the fun in that?
  • I'll believe it when I see it. Just because someone used to be the voice of toddlers in the other Sims games, that doesn't mean that's what they're doing now.
  • Well, then I guess I should beware quotes taken out of context.
  • But, look at the way this is being set up. Read carefully. The way I see it, it's a form of manipulation. It's also very annoying...at least to me. Stuff like this is the reason I don't do Twitter.
  • In other words, they're messing with our minds. It's called creating buzz, people. Don't fall for it. They know that sooner or later, someone will start a thread like this on the main forums, and pretty soon, the thread will be umpty-ump pages long with people arguing whether or not it's a hint. If nothing else, it keeps…
  • Someone will have to do the research but one of the head honchos on the Sims Team said that the reason toddlers weren't put in the game was because the telemetry showed it was the least popular life stage. However, they didn't take into account the many players who play offline and who never log on to play the game online.…
  • It's called "Creating Buzz". That's the reason the Sims Team uses Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to throw down their little so-called "hints" and "teases". They want to keep the flame alive, keep the fans talking about the game, whether positive or negative. Of course, they prefer positive, but hey, some publicity is…
  • If you didn't want people arguing, then you shouldn't have started this thread. 'Nuff said.
  • @nanashi-sims there's a lot of talent there. Excellent videos!
  • You can think all you want. It ain't happening. As for Newcrest, I'm pretty sure that town was based on the template for Willow Creek, so there's really no effort. It's just a Willow Creek clone with some added scenery as backdrops to make it look different, along with the fact that it has no buildings, which disappointed…
  • Excuse me, did I miss something? Where is this pure hatred that you're talking about? Sure, there's lots of disappointment in the way The Sims 4 turned out, but, with the exception of a handful of players, I really haven't seen any pure hatred of the Sims 4. I've seen fans feel disappointed because they feel that they were…
  • Hate to break it to you, but those pools and ghosts were already developed even before the game launched. The only reason we got them for free and right after the game launched is because of the backlash. And as for everything else that was "whined about", so far we've had to pay for hot tubs and we still don't have trash…
  • No, you don't have to. Click on the Sims 3 box, then you'll see the little arrow. Your games are all there, just hidden like Sparkfairy said.
  • I would reply to you in Spanish, but then I'd have to translate it, so here goes in English... It doesn't matter how many fans want toddlers, because Maxis knows that the fans will continue to buy the game without them. And the fact that Sims Free Play has toddlers means nothing. The Sims Free Play is being made by a…
  • The devil's in the detail...and in this case, the more details the better.
  • Again, same logic applies: If it's been there all along, why weren't toddlers released within the first six months of the game launch? You can say all you want that they're being worked on, but I refuse to believe that putting them in is such a complicated thing that almost two years later, they're still working on…
  • Two different studios: Sims Free Play: FireMonkey The Sims 4: Maxis 'Nuff said.
  • Well, as I told the OP earlier, this whole discussion is moot, because from the looks of it, Maxis is in no particular hurry to add them back into the game. The optimal time to have added them in would have been within the first six months of the game launch, and before Outdoor Retreat was released. Now, with the release…
  • Okay, so...if the idea behind comforting those players who want toddlers in The Sims 4 is: "It's okay that there's no toddlers in the game; they probably wouldn't fit in anyway"...I'm sorry, but I don't get it. What's so comforting about that? I'm not even going to get into the ridiculous adolescent potty humor, and the…
  • There's nothing illogical about it. The pet life cycle is separate from a Sim life cycle. One has nothing to do with the other, except when it comes to animations. Toddlers, on the other hand, *are* a part of the Sim life cycle, so what you're asking for is for the team to insert toddlers in between babies and children.…
  • @Cinebar, males reading on the commode....it's not a gender thing. In real life, I've been known to take my tablet to the throne room if I'm know I'm going to be awhile worshipping the porcelain ghod, and reading a chapter or two in an ebook. And as everyone knows, I'm a female.
  • Agreed, Maxis has always ignored the fact that the fans have consistently been against online play for this series, because it takes away the control from the fan, and they have to put up with other people interfering with their game. Plus, most people mistakenly think that any online version would play just like the…
  • Don't hold your breath. Consider the possibility that the reason we have no toddlers or cars in the game is because the way the current game engine is designed, it simply doesn't support that life stage or those transportation objects. Personally, I think the fans would have been happy with modified toddlers with limited…
  • Bottom line: People see what they want to see and believe what they want to believe, even when there's nothing there to give that idea or belief substance. That's why we get these kinds of threads.
  • I don't see it as a contradiction. Some players have openly stated that they won't buy the game unless toddlers are installed for free. Others have said they are willing to pay for it, but by far the majority of fans are still willing to buy the game even if it never gets toddlers...either because they have some hope that…
