TWO Copies of Lucky Palms - Plus Store Stuff Won't Stay Installed - HELP!

So I had an issue tonight where suddenly a bunch of my Store content was missing from my game when I started. I got the message "some items are missing" when my save file loaded. Took me a bit to figure out it was store items. So I quit and sure enoguh, a bunch of my Store items showed as no longer installed in the launcher. Included in this list was Lucky Palms and the Lucky Simoleon Casino. I reinstalled the items, but left Lucky Palms alone so I could check on it.

When my game opened, I chose to start a new game. Lucky Palms was *not* listed as one of my options for a town. I exited the game and them re-installed both the casino (I have the regular version) and Lucky Palms. Much to my dismay when I went back into the game after that, I once again chose to start a new game and listed on the cities there are TWO LUCKY PALMS! I didn't dare try and start a game for fear of massive errors, nor do I have a save game in Lucky Palms yet.

Here's my question - how can I find out if I truly have Lucky Palms twice? And if I do, how do I get rid of one of them? And why didn't the Launcher tell me it was already installed? (even though it didn't show as being installed anymore)

Some info: I installed Showtime Thursday - BUT I played for like 3 hours after installing that night and none of these issues were happening. All of my items were there and it was all smooth sailing. In fact, I am building a house and many of the missing items are build items. I know for a fact they were there because I got them for the house I am building.

One weird thing did happen. Tonight, I was installing a shirt from the store that I had just purchased when my internet connection went down. So the launcher was stuck with the pop-up window that shows the progress of the install. It had installed so the box was just black. But it sat there for a long time. By the time I got my internet back up, I had to close the Launcher and restart the game. Could this have borked the item and be causing my issues?

Any help is so very much appreciated - I really don't want to lose my game progress! And I want very much to keep Lucky Palms as it was gifted to me.

Can someone please help me :cry:

I wanted to add that I was able to play my regular save file afterwards and spend some time working on the house I am building. The items that has previously disappeared were back (although I had to put them back in the house as the game has put "substitute" items in their places).

Sadly, one of the items that decided to uninstall was the Fishtank that lets you have 6 fish in it. I can't remember the name but it is the one I'd consider to be a modern style. It is sad because it had 6 fish in it that were all loved by my little Sim family. I don't know if the fish went back into their inventories but as of right now, no one knows the outcome for poor Reggie the Shark, Hilda the Jellyfish, Buster the Tragic Clownfish and three un-named but still loved minnows.

    *sigh*

Okay, joking aside, I still would love help on my duplicate Lucky Palms. I am sorry for the long ranting posts, it is late and I am slap happy. I hope everyone doesn't look at these and decide TL;DR because I really would like to solve this mystery!

Thanks for taking the time to read.

I can't answer all your questions, but I can tell you how to see if Lucky Palms is installed twice. Open the Game Launcher. On the Downloads tab scroll down until you find Lucky Palms. Click in the select box and then click on the Show File button. The window will open for the folder ...\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads. The file name for Lucky Palms is LuckyPalmsStandard.Sims3Pack. If you have two files installed the duplicate will be named as LuckyPalmsStandard(1).Sims3Pack or LuckyPalmsStandard(2). You can delete the second file using the delete button on the game launcher.

When I accidentally install an item again, I do not always get the dialogue box telling me the item has already been installed.

**bump** I am having a similar problem with Lucky Palms. I had to do a restore to factory settings on my computer. I got all my Sims stuff back EXCEPT for Lucky Palms. I installed it and it said it was done. I went into the game and Lucky Palms is nowhere to be found. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Same results. Can anyone help? Thanks!

This looks familiar somehow. I remember someone on another forum who had something like this with Lunar Lake, and it turned out to be because she had been a little overenthousiastic when clearing cachefiles. Did you do any spring cleaning?

You need to delete the second LuckyPalms .world file from here:
    Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/InstalledWorlds

That will get rid of your double Lucky Palms problem.

No, I didn't do any spring cleaning except for to have to re-install everything. I don't have Lucky Palms in my Installed Worlds folder. I'm afraid it might be gone for good. :( Thank you both for actually taking the time to read this and offer support! I really appreciate it!

I know with store stuff if you install them in your mods folder as .package files then you wouldn't have any problems with it uninstalling it self. I'm not sure if the same can be said for store worlds though.
