This is a problem I've had for days now that I've tried to resolve myself. Since downloading the latest patch, I've had sound effects and music repeat two or three times in The Sims 3. For example, I'll click on a chair, and the "pop" sound of the mini menu expanding will sound-off several times, almost like an echo. I thought maybe it was just lag in the game, but it also happens to music during smooth moments. Like the singer has hiccups or something. Sim vocals have the same issue, so I'm left to assume it's all audio in the game that is going to do this.

I did update my audio drivers to the latest version, hoping this would help. Unfortunately it has not. I don't know what else to do but this is making it annoying to play the game with any sound on. It doesn't happen everytime, but it does happen often enough to be noticeable.
