Babies making graphics go wonky

This is a new issue I am having. I have all expansions and stuff packs except Town Life.
My sim goes to the hospital to have babies. I get to name them, but then when she leaves the hospital one, or both of the babies look like long streaks of tan. Their icon is a tan streak as well. Then as the mother goes home, she starts walking through things and the graphics start to act weird. Moments later I see almost nothing except the control panel and a light blue screen with chunks of game screen here and there. I "Quit" and restart. Same thing happens.
Is this a symptom of something not working that I have downloaded? Or does it sound like a game glitch?
