    "A Serious Error has Occurred..."

    I did a fresh Install. I have the base game, each expansion and each stuff pack.
    I have reinstalled Origins as well.
    I have NO CC and NO mods. Not even from the Sims Store.
    My Drivers are all up to date, I checked first thing and again before posting this.
    :(
    AND I am still getting an error message when I try and load any game. Sometimes, it will just crash to desktop, but usually I will get the error message first.
    I did the fresh install, did a Reg-cleanup,I created a test game, Sunrise Valley.
    I then quit the game and downloaded the RiverView world. I installed it. Started the game back up, loaded up my saved game, The game goes black and then I get the following message:

    "A Serious Error has Occurred while loading Sunrise Valley.sims3 It is strongly recommended that you restart the application."

    Does anyone have ANY clue what is going on? ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated.

    This is not the only computer intensive game I play. I also play ME 1&2; DAO,A,&2, WoW, Rift, and Civ4&5. (I have other games, but these are just the ones I play on a regular basis) I do not have the same issues with any of those games that I do with Sims.

    I see that some people post a big huge list of something to help with identifying an issue. I'm not sure what that is or how to compile it.

      Alright i'm pretty sure i've found out the problem! I've got System Mechanic and it runs a program called System Guard and System Shield. They kinda work like Norton's Live Protection or whatever it's called. Anyway it watches what's running to catch viruses and what not. Well I turned those off and now my game works fine. Idk what it is that those programs are blocking...or changing...but it looks like it's causing some kind of issue with reloading saved games. You guys might want to try this as a solution with everyone else who has this problem as I saw a similar fix on the forums. I'd say turn off everything else that's running in the background and test the game.

      That didn't work.

      I also tried the replacing the meta file. Someone had suggested that in a different post. That didn't work either.

      Ok, I just figured out I was looking for the DXDIAG thingie. So I went ahead and did that.
      Does anyone know what a DX Setup Parameter is? Apparently, I don't have any. Is that serious?

      There may be other background tasks or processes interfering with the game. If that is the case, you can try disabling them:
      From SimGuru_BGY_11:
      Let's try this, also:

      1. Click Start or press the Windows key and R, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.
      2. Click on Startup.
      3. Select disable All.
      4. Click on Services.
      5. Check the box that says Hide All Microsoft Services, then Disable All.
      6. Apply, then restart your system.

      Doing this will eliminate most of what might be interfering with the game running properly on a software level. After you are done playing the game repeat the above procedure, this time using the Enable All buttons to turn services and startup items back on.

      It is also advised that you clear your cache files before relaunching the game. This is especially true when adding or removing custom content from the game. The following cache files can be found in Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3:

      CASPartCache.package
      CompositorCache.package
      ScriptCache.package
      SimCompositorCache.package

      If you have a WorldCaches folder, delete the contents of that folder.

      Deleting the cache files should force the game to reload the most current graphics and script data in a pristine state. It is perfectly safe to delete the cache files as the game will automatically regenerate them each time.

      Well, I spent all day trying out those suggestions, and trying even a few more. Nothing seems to be working
      I'm kinda down about this, I have been playing Sims since The Sims (Original) first came out, and I really don't want to give up now. Sadly, it seems I might have to.
      If anyone has any suggestion even if it seems little, please send it my way.
