Update without uninstalling custom content?

I was wondering if its possible to download the latest update without having to uninstall custom content.
I get my custom content through the 'exchange lottery', just downloading randoms from the exchange, and would have no idea how to get it back if i did uninstall it, help!

I am not sure if 3pk is that important to move but...just to be safe.
All you have to do is copy - paste you Downloads folder to your desktop.
Delete the downloads folder in your game.
If you have a mods folder copy - paste it to your desktop.
Delete the mods folder from your game.
Do your update.
Copy - paste your downloads folder and / or mods folder back into the game folder.

Of course some CC needs to be updated when the game has an update or it won't work right. Usually clothes and hair don't have a problem. Usually. But, some of the other things do. Downloading from the actual creator is much safer.
