    Why has the language changed for my Launcher and Internet Explorer?

    I know its not the browser because I just checked my settings and its set to English. What's odd that its English for Firefox. I don't even know what language this is but it looks Russian i]no offense, that was just a wild stab in the dark[/i...no telling:

    I haven't changed any settings to my IE browser, it was just in English not even 6 hours ago.

      EA must be trying to expand our international understanding? LOL
      It's not Russian. I can actully read some Russian and that's not Cyrillic.
      Mine says it is Dutch.

      Maybe the English web site was hacked or is down for repairs so it defaulted to this other site?

      I doubt it was hacked...they can't be that naive and have such a weak ...lets just say that I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that they couldn't of been hacked.

      Sorry I can't help but I'm having the same problem only mine is in another language and only affecting my launcher.. I thought it looked like Dutch but if yours is Dutch, mine isn't, eg.

      I don't know what language mine is but it certainly isn't English.

      Good to know it wasn't just me! Mine also links to http://de.thesims3.com.

      At first I was afraid to click on the link in case I had a hacker but, no, it just was sending me to the S3 sight for that language. I checked for settings also, both in my S3 account and my browser.

      So guess this is under the catagory of "somebody did something and it bungled and we just wait until it's fixed."

      Just checked my launcher as well. The same prob seems to exist for everyone. That doesn't bother me so much though. Mine turned to German. What's yours? :P

      The link in the lower left of the Sims3 site next to the globe is the language selection - you can get your page at least back to English.

      Once I did that, I found I had a message. (in English only, the Dutch messages just had the standard welcome to Sims3) (no, I don't read Dutch, but I can recognize a form letter when I see one)

      Scheduled Maintenance tonight Feb 24 8:00pm PST
      The website will be down tonight at 8:00pm PST for scheduled maintenance for a few hours.

      I guess that the maintenance got our languages mixed up.

      EDIT: After changing the website preference, logging out and back in changes the launcher. I got the tip from the general discussions forum - I'm not smart enough to think of something obvious like that.

      I beleive it is dutch because it happened to me too and google toolbar told me it was dutch. I guess everyone is getting dutch, I don't think you should worry about it too much, the google toolbar can translate.

      mine speaks spanish. And it only changed after I played the game once after the very last download.

      the other language I saw in previous posts kind of looks like german.

      If only I could learn another language as easy as this launcher does...lol.

      My launcher is in italian today, and it links to the italian sims 3 website. It's driving me crazy!

      Hey I went to bed last night speaking english and while sleeping I was transported to another country. Woke up this morning wearing wooden shoes. Don't know what is going on But have other new items on my page. Afraid to uplode anything new for fear it will show up in dutch.

      Log out and in again after changing the language.

      Everything is in the usual place so to change to english click on the words at the bottom left of the HOME page.

      PS Top left to get to the homepage if you're not on it.

      Same thing happened to me. I am glad that it's not my game. My daughter looked at it (she speaks Russian) and says it looks like Polish to her. When I click on the link to check my messages it takes me to a Sims site in the same language.


      This is sure weird!!!

      I am also getting German! :shock: This has never happened to me before! Does it have something to do with getting World Adventures? I bought it and installed it yesterday, but and just now booting up to play. I hope the insides of my game are still in English :XD:
