I'm on an Alienware. My last-but-one main computer was an Alienware, too, and having sworn never, ever to have another one... I've just got another one. Aurora i7 with 9GB RAM and a GeForce 295, running Windows 7 64bit. Since I updated my drivers to solve some blue screen issues, Sims 3 flies along very happily. :D

Why? Are you having problems with an Alienware, or are you thinking of buying one?

It's because of DDR3 memory which works in triple channel, it's actually more common to have 16GB when someone has a I7, I5 or I3.

Alien-ware are very overpriced, I could make a PC just as good for £300.

5.9 - but it's my hard drive letting me down. Processor: 7.5, RAM: 7.6, Graphics (Aero): 7.8, Graphics (gaming): 7.8, Disk Transfer Rate: 5.9.

...Guess I shouldn't have cut my build costs in the hard drive area. Ah well. :)

Very overpriced, indeed. Just build your own from TigerDirect, and it will be just as good, if not better.

They are very over-priced, which is why I swore never to have another one. But I was lucky enough to come into some money just at the right time, so I went ahead and paid out. Looking at it that way, it hasn't cost me a penny. :D

£300 is pretty over-optimistic, I feel. :) The GTX 295 is at least £350 on it's own! But, yeah, you could build an equal system for far less than the Alienware price-tag, no doubt about it.

My thoughts exactly. You can build the same computer for hundreds less.

If anyone is looking for a new desktop to buy, I suggest Maingear.

    http://www.maingear.com/

    http://www.bbb.org/new-jersey/business-reviews/customs-consultant/maingear-in-union-nj-90045981

Quite possibly the best custom PC builders out there, and their customer service is top notch.
