Patch 1.7.11 freezing all the time now!

I just installed the patch and now my game freezes all the time. It starts up fine and create a sim and building a house are fine but when I start to play, it freezes and I don't know why. I don't get any errors or anything, it just freezes! Can anyone help me?

Would you mind posting your system profiler information?

Go to the Apple icon in the upper left hand corner of your screen and click
-> About This Mac -> More Info

You then want to go to File -> Save As... and set the File Format to Plain Text

Open that document and Select All and then copy and paste all of that information into your post.

Also, have you downloaded custom content from the Exchange? If so, you might want to try disabling it in the Launcher under the Installed Content tab by clicking "Run without custom content".

Try updating to 1.8 and seeing if that helps alleviate your issues.

How do you update to 1.8 if it says that I am up to date?

Did you install to a custom directory or the default Applications directory? If you installed to a custom location try renaming the The Sims 3 folder (not the application) and remove the "tm" from the name of the folder. Then try running the launcher and see if you're prompted to download the patch

I updated it and it doesn't freeze in the house as much but it freezes when trying to open menus (like options for example) I don't know why this is and I have to force quit. I already posted my system information and I don't have any custom content. I get all the updates from the launcher.

My game doesn't just freeze (I use patch 1.8) it freezes my whole laptop up, something TS3 only started to do wiht the 1.7 patch and this one. I have to force reboot and start all over. It happens everytime I try to play now.
