Origin password problem

I bought the game for my granddaughter about a year ago. Because they have lousy internet where they are and it's too slow to download anything, I bought her it on disk. So she wanted to come to my place to try and download the updates (it's installed on a laptop). Anyway when she got here she realised she'd left her password at home so she clicked the "forgotten password" button to change it - and we waited and waited for the reset email to arrive and it never did. Tried a couple more times, nothing.
I wondered if she had put in a different contact email address from the one she used as her account name. But now no one can check, since no one can log in.
What can we do? NB I have been asked to sort this as she is too young to have the confidence to deal with support staff and her mother isn't good with computer-related stuff.
