I spend most of my playtime with Sims 2 in Pleasasntview, but lately, I've been playing in Strangetown. I like playing the Specter household because Ophelia is my favorite in Strangetown. I don't know why. I guess I just like the background of the household and the...uh, "implications" about Olive. The game doesn't give you much time with Olive, though!
Ophelia has the family aspiration, probably because after her aunt dies, she won't have any living family aside from her cousin, Nervous Subject, who she doesn't even know. Making it more obvious, her lifetime want is six grandchildren. No promises on that one, but I'm going to let her have the family she deserves.
Unfortunately, while Ophelia does love her aunt, they do not get along, so they don't talk much. Ophelia spends her free time studying up on cooking and cleaning to prepare for her future family.
High school was about to end for Ophelia and she would soon be on her own. Losing her parents had taken a heavy toll on her and she still felt it, but by now, she was used to taking care of herself for the most part. She wanted to have the best future she could, so she decided to enroll at Fiesta Tech. She received two scholarships, one of which was for being an orphan. At least, something good came out of it.
Ophelia excelled at science in school, so she settled on majoring in biology.
Though she would've preferred to rent somewhere to live by herself, living in a dorm was a better choice financially. She chose Oasis Dorms, the smallest dormitory, and settled herself in.
Right away, Ophelia began working hard. She wanted to stay ahead and keep her grades high.
Ophelia wasn't the only one who had more work to look forward to than play. She found a new friend and study partner in one of her dormmates, Arianna Zaidi.

I like Ophelia. Good luck to her!

Seeing her boyfriend Johnny at college was a big surprise for Ophelia, and she loved it. She helped him get settled in his dorm and right away, they started spending time together.
Johnny is majoring in philosophy, so his classes are much different than Ophelia's. The upside is their schedules are far apart, so they've got enough time in between classes to share at least one meal together.
However, unlike his girlfriend, Johnny's top priority is his physique.
Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Or it wouldn't be if Johnny didn't seem to be itching for a fight every once in a while.
Uh-oh. Looks like Johnny wants to be the tough guy on campus. Ophelia's not going to be happy if she learns this.
Wow- I didn't know he was mean. O.o
It seems the college party life has really gotten to Johnny. Not only has he gotten into fights and not been minding his classes, but he seems to have forgotten he's supposed to be in a committed relationship.
Thankfully, he hasn't gotten any farther than being rejected.
However, he's about to be in trouble because the two girls he tried to flirt with come around the dorm fairly often, so they know he's Ophelia's boyfriend. On top of that, while Ophelia was in class when Johnny tried putting the moves on these girls, Arianna wasn't. In other words? Busted!
There was no way Ophelia wasn't going to know about her boyfriend's unfaithful antics. And, boy, was she angry when she did!
Johnny is not good at lying, so he couldn't smooth talk his way out of this one and Ophelia wasn't hearing any excuses he had anyway. Unfortunately for Johnny, his class wasn't for a few more hours, so Ophelia had plenty of time to yell at him.
After Ophelia let him be, Johnny bolted, which was probably a good thing since Ophelia didn't want to even look at him for the time being.

Ophelia was hurt more hurt than angry. Not only about the flirting around, but that college was turning Johnny into a party monster. She wanted to graduate with him, not leave him behind, but if he carried on like this, she was going to have to.
Johnny could see the hurt on Ophelia's face. He knew he'd hurt Ophelia, but he never thought she'd worry about him like that. Plus, when he thought about it, he had to admit he didn't like his actions either. He was only trying to have fun and make the most of college, but not at Ophelia's expense.
Johnny apologized, promising he'd not only never let it happen again, but that he'd do whatever would make Ophelia happy to make it up to her.
Ophelia wasn't really convinced he was sorry. After all, it didn't exactly take long for him to let loose and get wild.
Still, this was the first time they'd had any problem with their relationship and she wasn't totally unforgiving. After all, everybody deserves a second chance (most of the time) and it seemed like overkill to end their relationship over one screw-up.
Going over the pros and cons in her head a few, Ophelia finally decided she'd let this be a thing of the past...this time. If there was ever a next time, it was over.
Johnny promised her there wouldn't be.
From then on, Ophelia stuck around the dorm a little more often to help Johnny with his work and studies.
Helping Johnny study was work in itself, as he spent more time moaning about it than doing it. Though the threat of academic probation seemed to fix that.
Ophelia also joined him in one of his parties. It really wasn't so bad, though she couldn't say she wanted to do it often.
So, that's how things went for a while. Ophelia kept up her studies, and Johnny did too while throwing occasional parties into the mix and keeping in shape. Johnny did keep himself in check, keeping his promise to Ophelia, and saved his flirty ways for her.
One night, when the couple was laying with each other under the stars, they had a little chat.
"Ophelia, are you sure you're not mad me anymore?"
"Shouldn't I be the one who's uncertain?"
"I said sorry! I promised not to let it happen again and I haven't!"
"Let me ask you a question. Why did you come to La Fiesta Tech?"
"To be with you, of course. And to party a bit."
"A bit, huh? Sounds like you're not really interested in studies."
"Would you rather me leave?"
"No, but I wish you'd take it more seriously. College isn't all about partying and fights."
"It's not all about studying 24/7 either."
"I'm just going to be sad if I have to leave here without you. You know I don't exactly have any family left."
"What about your---ohhhh. That's right. She was in her late elder years."
"And she passed away before the first semester was even half over."
"Sorry. I promise you won't have to leave without me, okay? I mean it. I don't want to lose you either."
"I'm going to hold you to that."
Nice update.

Studying together seemed to make it a little less boring.
Their hard work paid off and at the end of their very final semester, they both graduated college! Ophelia, in particular, graduated with honors!
Before they left La Fiesta Tech, Johnny had a surprise for Ophelia. She'd forgiven for earlier antics and hadn't brought it up after they resolved it, but Johnny wanted to show Ophelia just how much she meant to him and that he truly wanted no one else.
They went into Ophelia's room, and Johnny proposed to her. Ophelia was almost too shocked for words and jumped into his arms, overjoyed.
"So, is this a yes?"
"YES!"
In need of some new outfits, they also went to do a little clothes shopping.
After getting settled into their new home, Ophelia searched for a job online.
She was lucky enough for the first opening, a position in oceanography, to be exactly the one she wanted. Johnny also searched for a job, but it took him a few days to find what he was looking for: a position in journalism.
Their degrees gave them both a step up in the careers they'd chosen.
When they weren't were working and had time at home, Ophelia would brush up on her cooking skills and try making new recipes every now and then.
Johnny kept up his fitness as he did during university. It seems in four years, Johnny still couldn't loosen up about exercising so much.
But for Ophelia, it was nothing to complain about. Better over-active than lazy.
Of course, every day ended with the couple snuggled close under the covers, the perfect way to end any day for them.
However, with their degrees completed, their relationship solid, and their careers going in the right direction, Ophelia was beginning to feel something nagging her...
Tiring of not being able to agree, Johnny eventually agreed to the kind of party Ophelia wanted. Ophelia felt bad - she didn't want Johnny agreeing for the sake of agreeing - but Johnny told her he wanted to things to be easier for her to handle. Besides, they would have to clean up when the party was over, and cleaning up a party was a lot less fun than hosting it.
They arranged the ceremony for a day they both had off, and invited Johnny's family and Ophelia's friends from La Fiesta Tech. Weddings in Strangetown weren't the most common event, so the guests were more than happy to come.
The most delicious part of a wedding: cake!

Ophelia took some time to catch up on what was happening back at college with Arianna. She had missed her best friend so much since leaving.
All of the guests were having a good time and enjoying themselves. The party turned out to be a roof raiser!
The day was fantastic for the newlyweds, but once they got everything cleaned up, they couldn't have reached their bed sooner.
Life continued on as it had before the ceremony for the couple until Ophelia began to feel sick one day.
Her stomach was bothering her. Since nothing else felt wrong, she didn't think much of it until she found herself rushing to the toilet to vomit. Then, she got an idea of why she might not have been feeling so well.
Ophelia was a little nervous about it, but overall, thrilled about being pregnant, and so was Johnny when she told him in the morning.
Ophelia was given maternity leave from work. Since she didn't feel well most of the time, Johnny did a bit of extra cooking and cleaning around the house to keep her off her feet.
He also massaged her back whenever she did get out of bed for a while. That seemed to feel almost heavenly.
Before long, Ophelia's belly grew bigger!
Although Johnny and Ophelia liked their house, it wasn't big enough for them and a child. Sure, it'd be fine while their child was an infant, but once the baby became a toddler, they'd have nowhere near enough space. Even their bathroom was more like a closet.
Rather than renovate their house, they preferred to move altogether. Their new house was just down the street, next door to the Grunt household.
The new house had more than enough space and buying it didn't put a huge dent in their funds. Now, they only had to wait for their new arrival.
After a few minutes of excruciating pain that felt like an eternity, baby Oswald came into the world!
An alien infant. Ophelia was a little surprised, but Johnny wasn't. He was an alien, after all, and he was smitten with his new baby boy.
Ophelia wanted the baby to sleep in their bedroom for the time being, so if he needed anything while they were asleep, one of them would wake up right away.
With their new home and their new baby, Ophelia and Johnny felt life couldn't get better for them.
Oswald usually slept throughout most of the day.
It wasn't until evening he'd especially cry for his parents' attention. They did their best to keep the childcare duties even between the two of them.
When Oswald didn't need anything for the time being, Ophelia would study up on her skills while Johnny was busying himself.
She had reached the top of the oceanography career - Hand of Poseidon - but baby Oswald's birth had already taken the spot for the best day of her life.
Ophelia hung the portrait above their bed and framed it in light wood.
Little Oswald just didn't seem to stay an infant for long. Do they ever? Before Ophelia and Johnny knew it, it was the little one's birthday!
Ophelia brought Oswald to the cake while Johnny cheered on.
Wheeeeee!
And now, their little boy is a little bigger! And dresses a bit like his grandpa!
Toddlers can't have cake, so Oswald got to use his new high chair for his birthday meal.
Followed by a visit to his new potty. It felt better than in his pants.
Oswald's favorite game to play is peek-a-boo! He still can't figure out how Daddy vanishes.
Johnny also started teaching Oswald how to stand and walk.
Of course, it took a lot of practice (and falling), but he eventually got the hang of it!
Oswald loves attention from his mommy as much as from his daddy.
Ophelia thought a nice bath was what Oswald needed. After all, it was almost time for the tyke to go to bed.
Uh-oh. Someone's getting cranky. Yes, it's definitely time for bed.
Johnny: Or maybe he doesn't like his pink pajamas.
Ophelia: He's two. He doesn't know what pink is. And you bought him the pink pajamas!
Johnny: It was Jill's! She wanted to give her nephew a gift! She thought he'd look cute in pink!
Ophelia: Well, I'll give her credit. She was right.
Now, you have it right!
It'd been some time since Johnny's parents and sister had visited the family, so he invited them over to catch up. Almost as soon as he saw her, Oswald was begging for some attention from his favorite (and only) aunt!
Jill happily gave in to his request. She loved her little nephew. Spending time with him just reminded her of how she couldn't wait to have her own little one.
Can't forget grandpa and grandma! Once Jill put him down, Oswald toddled over to his grandparents for a few snuggles.
Before it got too late, Jenny, Tech #9, and Jill decided to make their way back home. They thank Johnny and Ophelia for having them over and gave Oswald a few more snuggles and kisses before finally leaving.
Oswald snuck in a little more playtime with his teddy bear before it was finally time for bed.
But he had to get his sleep because he was going to have a big day tomorrow.
Is something over there, Oswald?
Aaaaaand...boom!
Oswald doesn't need a nursery anymore, so Johnny and Ophelia made his room more appropriate for a child his age.
Oswald was very comfortable in his new bed. So much better than a tiny crib. Well, he assumed so since he figured a crib would be uncomfortable and he couldn't actually remember being in one as a toddler.
"So, Daddy's daddy is from another planet, Mommy, and that's why we're green and you're not?"
"Well, yes, but---"
(Johnny, interrupting) "Let's just go with that!"
"So, the little boy finally climbed into his rocket and blasted off to space!"
When Johnny and Ophelia redecorated Oswald's room, they didn't sell his baby furniture. Instead, they stored it away and it's a good thing they did because...
...their family is about to get a little bigger.
Ophelia was pregnant again! Oswald wasn't going to be an only child for much longer, but he was more fascinated with his mom's belly than the idea of having a sibling.
"Did I come from there too, Mommy?"
"You sure did!"
"But how do you put babies in there?"
"Your dad and I will tell you when you're older."
Johnny was also happy to hear the news they'd be welcoming another child. He had a little hope for a daughter this time because he liked the thought of Oswald having a little sister like he did.
Sometimes, they also talk on the phone to each other before the school bus arrives. Usually about school!
With her son at school and her husband at work, Ophelia is alone for much of the day since she's on maternity leave again. This second pregnancy was going a little less smoothly, as she had more backaches, so she took a nice, hot bubble bath to relax.
When no one else was around, Ophelia sometimes thought about her Aunt Olive. It'd been years now since she died. Her old home had been abandoned since Ophelia moved out, but it hadn't been torn down because no one dared to go near it since the ghosts essentially took it over. Ophelia herself hadn't gone back once because it scared her.
Still, she had yet to meet the heir her aunt's inheritance had gone to. As far as she knew, her aunt didn't have any children. The money meant nothing to Ophelia since she'd done well for herself. She only wanted to know for the sake of knowing if her aunt had truly been her last relative (before her husband and son, of course) or if she had another left she didn't know about. Of course, that would bring up the question of why her aunt didn't want her to know.
After one more day, Ophelia went into labor during the night.
She gave birth to another alien infant, but this time, she had a girl. Johnny was excited. Oswald hadn't been able to look.
They named the baby girl Jocelyn. Looks like she'll be a green-eyed blonde just like her parents and her brother. No shock there.
Since the baby was out and clean, Oswald decided to say hello to his new sister and talk to her for a while.
"Mommy, she's not saying anything. Doesn't she like me?"
"She's too young, Oswald. You'll have to wait until she's a bit older before she can talk. But she's smiling. I think she likes you."
"Then, I like her too!"
"She's really small and her name is Jocelyn. She's my new sister. She has to drink from a bottle and be carried and sleep in a crib because she's so little."
"Mommy is putting her to bed right now. I'll show you when she leaves."
"See, Teddy? That's Jocelyn. I'm not really sure what she does besides lay down a lot, but she is kind of cute."
"She makes a lot of noise when she's awake, but Daddy says all babies do that because they can't talk yet. They learn to talk when they're toddlers. I'll get bigger when Jocelyn gets bigger too!"
"I help out with Jocelyn sometimes. I pick up her empty bottles. Mommy and Daddy get so busy with her, they forget!"
"There was a delivery person here this morning. He brought us food. Uh, groceries, because we all need to eat a lot, especially Jocelyn. She needs lots of good food to grow big and healthy like me!"
"And Mommy and Daddy still spend lots of time with me too. I like to dance with them and show off my handstands! I'm really good!"
Oh, and I spend a lot of time with my best friend, Emily! She's so much fun! Her favorite thing is video games! She's so good at them! We play a lot when she comes over."
*yawn* "I'm sleepy, Teddy. What about you? Are you ready for bed too?"
Ophelia: "I hope Teddy is because it's your bedtime, young man."
"Awww! Can't we stay up five more minutes?"
Ophelia: "Didn't you just say you were tired? Come on. Into bed. You and Teddy can talk yourselves to sleep."
Very cute updates. Can't wait to see more.
