    Is this new? Strange ground texture around empty lot in Forgotten Grotto

    Reposting this here since it appears that the original thread was inexplicably deleted before I was able to read any of the responses.

    I haven't had a sim travel to The Forgotten Grotto for months, so I decided to visit the other day and noticed this strange dark texturing on the ground outlining the small empty just after you exit the portal into the world.

    Has this always been there? I took at look at some online videos to see and it was missing from all of the online tutorials, and I found this image on SimsVip and no texture! :s

    I even tried using buildenabled cheat to see if it could be fixed, but I'm unable to edit the area outside of the lot (the unshaded area in the pic). This isn't a huge deal, but it is kind of annoying to see and I wonder where it came from since I've never made any edits to Forgotten Grotto.

      Mine has always looked like that. Not sure why it's there, but it has been for me since the game came out.

      It's the edges of the lot you can build on there. It only started showing the edges after the last patch. You'll see them on different lots throughout the neighbourhoods at certain angles now. It's mostly noticeable in the grotto because of heavier shadows.
      Dissatisfied with Sims 4 and hoping for a better Sims 5

      The shadow is the outline of the buildable area within the grotto. I don't know why for some it shows and some it doesn't, but it has been going on in my game for nine months.

      Thanks for the comments everyone. Good to know it's not just me. I posted this in the Bugs thread and apparently there's no fix and Maxis was notified about the issue months ago.
