Sims employing themselves??

So, I noticed that the sims I haven't played in a while have careers that I, for a fact, did not set them up in. For example: My sim, Hermione, is an author and stays at home to write. I haven't played her in a while, but upon loading the game today, I see she's working in the second level of the business field. Other sims, especially a couple of teens, have also done this. Is anyone else having this issue? Is it a bug, or it is just a annoying mechanism of the game?

NPC Sims were given careers in the last patch. I actually like it, now not everyone is unemployed! Lazy bums, lol!

yes i believe the game is meant to randomly give unplayed sims a career. i like it, it's kind of neat. after installing get to work, i went back into a household of mine after switching to another one for a little and my sim was even in the detective career. not the plan i had for her but went with it anyway lol

@rosetheist - The March 26 patch added jobs for non-played Sims, according to the patch notes. I've got a bug report running here about jobs also being given to played Sims in rotational gameplay. More "me-too's" and experience descriptions welcomed, so devs see how big a problem this is! http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4-Bug-Reports/Played-Sims-quitting-amp-getting-jobs/m-p/4445864
