Employee glitch

I don't know if anyone has had this but does anyone know how to fix it?
The glitch:
I have a sim who ones a store. I have built a apartment on the store that she lives in. She has 2 employees. When I go to manage worlds and spend a while there, I come back to the game and the employees are gone. Then I have to hire new ones and do all the career outfit again. It is annoying me.
This has happened twice in about 3 days.
Has anyone else had it and can anyone fix it?

I'm not running out of sims because I only started the game a week ago. The problem is that my employees are randomly firing themselves kinda thing. I don't tell them to stop working for me but they just do it. They are still in my game after they stop working for me. Thanks for trying to help! My explanation of the glitch could have been a bit un-clear.

those employees, do they have other jobs after they've quit ?
not sure. I'll see when I next play that game
