Keep having twins/ triplets

one of the families I started had a kid and they were twins! I started another family and the first pregnancy resulted in twins, I had another kid and this resulted in triplets, HELP! I am pretty sure this is not genetic because both the parents are just sims I created in CAS and they have no family so it should be the same low chance! :s I now have FIVE kids from only 2 pregnancies... Is there any way to change the number of children a sim is having?

Search the forums lately. There has been a multiples explosion due to a bug in the recent patch. At least most of us are hoping it was unintentional.

I too have had loads of multiple births, not a single, single birth which is odd!! as @Smooch said, its a bug in the patch.

At this point, having a single child is so rare.

Only been pregnant once and had mixed gender twins, I hope I haven't got this bug that would be annoying.

My last birth in game has been twin girls. Waiting to see what the next birth is going to be later on, hopefully not another set of multiples

I guess I just have to wait until they fix it than. Its really frustrating though. I have an almost full household from just two pregnancies!

Two different couples, a set of twin boys each (one being the Pleasants, who had twins but girls, well Angelo and Lukas it is). I was thinking of trying a different family to see if they get twin girls.
    Long live the new Doctor!

If it's a bug, I hope they fix this soon. My sister started a new family and she had twins followed by triplets -_-

My sims just had twins as well and that was the first time it happened in my game. I'm not going to play again until this is fixed.

    I'm guessing our towns ain't big enough so they bring this bug to create more townies. I want my singles back! ;-;

    Can't keep up with twins..
Yeah, since that patch all I've had is twins. And pretty much everyone..

Its the same with me! Its so annoying.. One time I got twins first, then triplets. Hope they fix it soon. Its almost like its normal to get twins and more rare to get singular.

When it first happened to me, I was pleasantly surprised. Now? Not so much. At the moment, having a single child is a pleasant surprise ;)

Personally I have no idea. But I know how to reduce the chances of it happening in game.
First off don't let the person who is pregnant watch kid shows, or woo hoo. This will reduce the chances of haveing two, or more babys in game.
I tried making my sim work out while pregnant (Just so she doesn't get really fat after having birth), and 1/3 times it had worked only having one child :3.

That glitch is rampaging through my game, and what's worse is that it's all girls so males are becoming a rare species

I am still having this bug even after GTW, there are two mods out there that can help with this. Only install one of them.

The first resets the chance to have twins etc back to the base chance 89/10/1 (single/twins/triplets), she has also made a 75/20/5, 70/20/10, and a few other flavors. Choose the one that suits you.
website: Mod The Sims, Number of babies odds modifier, by pekesims
    Pros: It works
Cons: it hasn't been updated since before Outdoor Retreat, so the fertility potion from that ex-pac has no effect. (If someone wants to update this, you'd have my eternal gratitude)

The second allows you to choose haw many children you want, so choose if you want to always have singles, twins, or triplets, and install that mod.
website: Mod The Sims, Choose number of babies, by pekesims
Pros: It works / no surprises
Cons: All fertility enhancements are useless / no surprises
