The Sims 3 Not Working Correctly, Lagging, Freezing, Crashing, Glitching, On A New Laptop.

Okay, so it all started with my old computer. My game would lag and have some glitches but they where never super horrible but, I finally got fed up with it. So I bought a new laptop which my brother had picked out and made sure that it would run The Sims 3 and many other things amazingly. It has TONS of free space on it. My current GB space is 827 GB free of 917 GB. It has a new graphics card and everything. My brother is very intelligent when it comes to electronics and has checked everything that could make my game run the way it does many times and every time he can't find a single thing wrong, so I know it is not my laptop that is making my game run badly. All of my settings are set on low, and I have always played in Windowed Mode. In Create a Sim, I can get through basics, looks, and some times an outfit or two. Then my game either glitches, then shortly after freezes, or freezes then crashes, so i have to keep saving sims constantly and spend hours re-starting my game and continuing on my sims. In live mode I can get through anywhere between 5-10 sim hours that are a little laggy before freezing and crashing. If I am in buy/build mode for to long my game will glitch and crash. I am getting really frustrated with my game. I delete bad files all the time but that has never helped one bit. Please help me fix my game! I don't want to stop playing the sims 3 because of this problem.

(I have the base game, Pets, Late Night, Supernatural, Seasons, and Diesel Stuff. I don't use mods or CC. I have a decent amount of store content.)

You have an integrated/onboard graphics card that is tied to the motherboard which is not meant for gaming. It only has 64 mb of RAM and that is below the minimun requirements to run the base game. It should have been a dedicated graphics card with at least 1 gb of VRAM. You're running out of memory because your (everyday use) card can't handle the game. You only have the one card (no dual graphics), so I'm afraid you are stuck with it as you cannot upgrade.

ohh.. So i just wasted a ton of money on a laptop that doesn't do the only thing I bought it for. I guess ill just go re-install it on my old crapy computer....

Peace, if you haven't had it very long you might be able to return it and exchange it for a different laptop.

The Intel HD 4000 with Ivy Bridge isn't really bad for an integrated chip. If the opportunity is open, get a new laptop. If not try getting a cooling pad.

In most cases, you aren't going to be able to return the laptop unless there is something wrong with it not causes by you. And even then they (the mfg) will just try to fix the issue before they would let you try to return it. That is why I said you are stuck. If you're going to play on a laptop I would recommend building to your specs and not buying off the shelf.

My laptop has been doing that lately, but I realized it's because it's heating up too badly. If yours heats up as well, get a laptop cooling pad. I promise you my game runs smoothly now.

I recently bought a new Mac laptop and the sims was working fine for a few months and all of a sudden now the game freezes. It happens every single time I try to play after about 10-15 min. Do you think this is a game or computer problem?

its not because its heating up because ive had my laptop shut down for almost 2 weeks before and when I re-opened it it was still running the same... Ive tried lowering the graphics, ive always played in windowed mode, ive tried running my game with only the base game no store content, un-installing, re-installing, ive installed it on my cousins laptop and it worked fine on there but he lives out of state and only comes down once a week every year so i couldn't just play on his, i am only 13 so i don't get a ton of money... only around $150 dollars every year for my birthday and i had been saving up for the past few years just to get this laptop and all of my games that i have. I just tried installing on my old computer but the launcher won't even open and i spent almost an hour looking for the game in the documents to try to force start my game through there but it wasn't there and then i re-installed it a few more times and couldn't find the folder, even my brother couldn't find the folder so i just gave up... My mom said that I souldn't try to re-turn the laptop because ive had it for almost 8 months...

i don't think it's anything with to many things opened the same time either because when i play i never have any other programs running.. the only thing i currently use the laptop for is the internet, itunes, and the sims 3, and i never have any problems with the laptop when im on the internet or some other program, it runs so perfect and the picture is amazing, but the sims has never ran the same. Ever since the first day i used my laptop, the first thing i did was open the sims and set all my settings to low, then i played it and saw how horribly it was running, and ive been confused ever since.

In my opinion, Sims 3 will generally run fine at first, if you have a good enough computer to run it. But sooner or later, it's going to start lagging or freezing or even crashing. That's because there are too many cars and too many Sims are stuck. It all adds up, and it makes the game lagger than it was at first. All of my games have done this. I fix my games with Twallen's Master Controller and Overwatch. Then my games start to move normally again. Then sometime later, the lagging starts again, and it's time to run the Master Controller and reset the enter town. This really helps, and I won't be able to play my game without Twallen's Master Controller and Overwatch.

I've been playing Sunlit Tides for a long time, and there are only two more families to do in the whole town. My game has gotten laggy and had freezing problems along the way, but then I run Twallen's Master Controller and reset the town, and my game is running smoothly again. I've had to do this many times in the last few months while playing this town.

Another thing to do is to keep houses small and clean out the food and books in the Sim's inventory when you get done playing a family. Having less items to save has really helped with playing the town. I don't travel a lot to the places to visit which often to lead to lagging in the game when my Sim got home. All these thing shave helped me. This is the first town I'm going to be able to finish before the game stopped working.

All my other towns got too big. The houses were all big, and the inventories had a lot of items that had to be saved. I travelled a lot, and that lead to many problems in the game. In the end, I could not finish these towns because I would start getting Error 12, so I could no longer save my game.

I actually don't have that much lagging. Right now i only have the base game and seasons installed even though i have late night, pets, supernatural, and diesel stuff because when i have them all installed my game will only last 5-10 minutes in live mode before freezing and crashing. I can play the game without it freezing and crashing but my C-A-S still doesn't stay open long enough to create one whole sim because it glitches and/or freezes and i don't get error code 12 or 16 anymore.
