That sounds handy. I didn't know you could grow gem dust. I have sold pretty expensive dust. Wish I had known. Thanks for the info.

whenever I have the casino items on my home lot its always the family playing them, not the visitors, same thing with the purchased venues prior to IP, I will have to do that today and see how it goes

Yep! Apparently the tiberium will grow no matter what form it is in. I've used this method for a long time to make tons of money. Want to make it even more? Sell the grown tiberium to the elixir shop! I get around $70k for each piece of tiberium sold. And if your sim is a gatherer, you will get at least 3 pieces of gem dust with each cutting. That's $280k from a single raw tiberium!

Just don't keep Tiberium in your inventory... it'll have some adverse effects ;)

Good plan. I normally do it the old fashion way just because I am old fashion. I get a job and earn money in the daily grind. lol I feel like I am cheating or using exploits, or taking advantage of the games minor money making flaws. I never buy the genie lamp for this reason. :(

Huh, I never knew that about Tiberium. I usually just have my sims work hard to reach the top of their career, or have them become famous and pick up opportunities. I'll keep that in mind.

Sorry to nitpick but I don't see how this involves Island paradise. You get tiberium with world adventures (which you didn't mention), the inventing and sculpting from ambitions, and the science machine from university. You need nothing from Island paradise to make this work. Otherwise good tips.

If you have WA, learn the martial arts skill then work on it till you can break oak boards easily (without hurting your hand); after you break 150 oak boards you can break space rock blocks and sometimes get gems including tiberium. I've gotten close to 300K from a single tiberium gem after cutting and "planting" the dust. (It's also a good way to get the pink diamond needed to do the heart cut for the Simbot or the rainbow gem to turn an Imaginary Friend doll real.)

I think the point is to get the money to upgrade your resorts fast. 8) And you need four additional packs -- WA for the tiberium (didn't realize it came from that pack), Ambitions for sculpting/inventing (you don't even absolutely need the sculpting -- you can get lots of scrap for free if you visit the junkyard), gem cutting machine from Supernatural and science machine from University Life. (I need to get my Sim better at science -- none of them have hit the cloning level yet.)

didn't realize tiberium came from WA, and yes I forgot to mention that SN came with the gemcutter, my bad lol, but the whole purpose of the OP was to make it easy to gain money to make the resorts the way you want to instead of building little by little

Lol yeah sorry. I realized I came off a bit mean. Just trying to help refine your advice.

I do support just learning simfu and breaking the space rocks. If you get the strength training achievement for athletic (so you never get fatigued during strength workouts) and the timber terminator achievement for simfu you can easily live off the gems you get from breaking space rocks. While still doing the cloning trick from university.

Also if you have pets just get a dog and turn him into a collecting slave mwahaha. Every new family I start has a dog. All he does is sniff out collectables. Once you get the alpha pet lifetime reward they get tiberium fairly regular. I think that reward costs 7500 for the dogs, which can be annoying to get.

I have one more easy money tip.

If you have dragon valley, buy dragon eggs. They cost 395 you talk to it once to start it hatching, 6 hours later it hatches and you can instantly sell the baby dragon for 1000. Thats 600 profit on each egg. I dont think buy mode has anything else that turns a profit like that for so little work. This tip will not rake in the money like tiberium but is a good way to get a bit ahead early game while your sims are poor.

Cats can make a lot of money from hunting too. Some of the beetles and other critters sell for over a thousand simoleons.

    Aughghghgh!!! How stupid am I?

My sims find tiberium rocks fairly frequently and grow the dust and spires. They also use the consignment stores to sell stuff all the time, but did it ever occur to me to sell the mature spires there - knowing full well how much more they get from platinum bars there, etc.???? No.

I could kick myself! Thanks for the tip. I will go have a good cry now and feel better soon. :(

I always start the game with my sims maxing the "Painting" skill. After all these years its still the easiest way to make simoleons :P

Think i will start a new island paradise game with with a painter/resort owner or painter/life guard :) So far i've just used sims who already had money so i could learn the new features. But now its time to play!!

You could also cut out the sculpting and inventing with a dog or a werewolf. They both hunt for collectables and will occasionally find tibererium, not to mention the constant stream of income from all the other collectables gathered! That's how I make my fortunes<3

Good tips, but I prefer the challenge of working for the money.

Making Hobart's Hideaway presentable was almost entirely funded by scuba diving finds for my Sims, but it's still got the same facilities it had before - actually improving it will be funded by the money my Sims make, so they'll have to work hard to get the 5 star rating.
