Le Cinema Plumbob - PC Suspicion

I sadly do not own the Cinema yet, but would love to get it eventually so I'm asking all of you... Does the premium content (PC) from this venue work like the one item from Sims 2 Open For Business, where you would also pay to enter buildings? Is everyone pleased with how it works?
As well, does anyone have a suspicion that this is a 'tester item' by EA to see if they should release a Open For Business EP - Kinda like how they released magic PC items before Supernatural EP... Just a hunch, a hopeful one!:wink:

I bought it not impressed with it, yes I think EA does a lot of this testing on our backs the consumer. Just like the latest Chicken Coop that was a rip off also. I think that was a test item.

So many people on here say they like things I guess because they are afraid to tell the truth. Not sure why that is.

    Hi

I personally really like the items from le plumbob. The ticket machine and gates add a little extra to my gameplay. I built a bowling alley and skating rink and added the ticket machine and gates to it so my sims have to pay to play.

With a little imagination, these items can be great

I have it and I'e used it on a lot of lots! :D

It's like the ticket machine from sims 2 but it's BETTER! because you can set it up wherever you want, or set a few up to allow/restrict access to different areas. And the amount of options you can choose is great! You could set it to only allow celebrity vampires aged child or younger (if you wanted to for some strange reason) or only allow elder faries etc.

Seriously, if this is a sign of things to come then I'm thrilled! An improved version of OFB?

I don't know where you are getting at, but based on the information they gave us and all the features BOTH items do... there is nothing that we the players need to "test" on.... :?

And stating if a player likes the content or not is not a matter of truth, it's a matter of OPINION which obviously does not make it a fact....

I have both the cinema with the ticket system and the chicken coop and I love both and im telling the truth! why would I lie? Why would anyone? This is a very odd thing to say that people are not telling the truth when they say they like something. I accept you dont like them, thats fine, but your opinion is not everyones opinion

I have the coop and the cinema. I LOVE both. The coop is great with community lot gardens, farm lots, and eco-friendly sims. The cinema is great fun for dates. I added casino items to the 2nd floor.

I also use the ticket stands as a way to replace some VIP and celebrity areas. Aurora springs is a small town. There wasn't enough room for me to add in a celebrity system. Plus I thought it might be nice to have 1 town without them. So I took away the celebrity barrier and put in a ticket stand. It allows me greater control over who goes into an area. Example: I don't want kids or teens in a casino / gambling area. They would look out of place. So I use the ticket stand.

    ^^^ this^^^

I pretty much ignore every post. I have no problem with a difference of opinion, but she's so negative its like venom. I have both, haven't used the cinema yet but I like what people have done with the PC items.

The chicken coop I'm using in aurora skies presently and love it. I like it because unlike the bees, you don't have to do much to the coop/chickens. Feed the chickens early in the day collect eggs in the evening.

I want to see skating on the ice and roller rinks, so being able to stop werewolves from running around and faeries from flying round and round is a real plus. Of course, I'd really like them to patch the game so faeries and werewolves could actually skate, but until they do, I will use the workaround and ban them from the rinks.

Keeping pets and toddlers out of buildings where they don't belong is a good thing, too.

And I just love the chicken coop. I'm really glad I got that set. The only thing I don't like is how fat the men look in the farm clothes. Whoever is making men's clothing, lately, is getting them too big. Even a slim sim looks bulky. The last couple sets have been that way. If it continues, I'll stop buying mens' clothes. But the rest of the set is great.

There's a great tutorial on how to use the ticket booths. I've made two builds with the ticket booths and I've just added Clubers working Lair to my game which also uses the ticket booths. I think its a great edition to my game.

Thanks for everyone's feedback! :D I will probably get the Cinema sometime soon then... Preferably when it goes on sale, and I look forward to making venues with the PC.
As for the chicken coop, I already have it too so why not get some other PC from the store  - I was pleased with this set/PC too, so I don't have too many worries. Those worries that I did have seem to be adjusted by the help of all of you, so thank you! :D
Lastly, I really do hope that the Cinema is a "test" item to see if the Sims market/consumers are willing to buy a OFB EP! I know I am willing to buy that type of EP, seeing as I loved the Sims 2 version :)

Oh,and just to clarify on any confusion... When I say "test item" I don't mean this as a negative thing, or meaning to call us "test subjects". What I intend to mean is that while giving the Sims consumers something fun and new with the PC items, that EA is (possibly) using the sales for that item to create a projected profit or projected market/consumer size - And with those numbers EA could determine wither to create an OFB EP or not.
    Sorry for any confusion

I have both but haven't used the cinema yet. I really like the chicken coop and the eggs. Really cute pc.

I don't think there will be OFB in sims 3, as the future ep coming out later this year will probably be the last ep in the series. But we can always hope for OFB in sims 4.

Oh!!! From your mouth to EA developer's ears!!!! I absolutely LOVE Sims, but it is just not as fun w/out all the wonderful aspects OFB added. I want to build stores and sell all these great items our Sims create and sell. Just that (oh and restaurants with NPC chefs and waiters!) would be so awesome. Well, dont listen to me - look at Cinderellimouse's thread - link in my signature!!

I love the cinema's PC items. I use the gates a LOT and sometimes use the ticket booth. Usually I just use the gates to restrict access to places like bars and casinos. I don't want young sims going in those areas, and I never want zombies going anywhere (wish we could turn them off completely--I and many others can't stand them.) Anyways, the ticket booth is cool for many venues like a theme park and recreational places that sims should reasonably pay an entry fee. I do charge for entry to the casino because they can win so much in there, it just seems right to charge a small entrance fee.

My only dislike is that you can't set ticket prices. It would be nice to be able to charge more or less for certain things. Instead, it's §10 all the time, no matter what. So they pay the same to watch movies as they do to enter a hot dance club or go to the theme park. It's a bit weird. But the functionality is perfect. I'd just like to be able to charge more or less whenever I see fit!

I personally love the chicken coop. It's so cute and it works so well with my farming sims, even the stuff I got extra(Because EA won't let the PC go on its own ) is actually really cute.

But I feel like the "Thetre" would disappoint me, it seems like they just play the videos from the tv channels we already have.

Wow, you are very bitter. I'm sorry you are disappointed, however, I don't understand why you would still be supporting EA. Stop buying EA merchandise then if you are not happy.

OP- I personally love both. I turned one of the "movie theatre rooms" into a bowling alley and put the the black jack tables upstairs replacing the dining tables. It's like a fantastic family hangout! As for the chicken coop, I absolutely adore it! I've had no issues with it whatsoever.
