How to play a homeless sim??

I'm going to play a homeless who knows magic tricks and tarot card. He's going to be a charming tan 🐸🐸🐸🐸 wearing ragged clothes. He will wait for someone who will accidentally drop by his place and impress them with his talents.

Also, can anyone recommend a city or town world full of houses or buildings that has like a relatively large bottom area where homeless people would live?

Edit: It has to be extremely crowded and narrow too. This is not really necessary but if it's near the water or a canal, it'd be great because I could make him fish. What I'm really asking for are strict rules to play that type of sim.

I tried playing a homeless sim once, but it was pretty much a bust for me. I had him live in an empty lot in Starlight Shores (or whatever the one that came with Showtime was called). My whole plan was to make him have to go to the gym to shower, eat the fruits/veggies that he picked, or roast fish on the firepit. But making money in Sims 3 is just way too easy. I had him pick a couple of flowers at the spring festival, and before I knew it he had 20k. So I made him go to the Casino with no gambling skills, and it turns out he's a natural, and he earned even more money. Apparently he wasn't destined for homelessness.

I'm currently playing in St. Clair (a custom world), and it might be good for homeless sims. You could make him hangout on the beach underneath the bridge, or in the city over by cityhall.

I did the homeless challenge, very fun. :D At the end, my sim became a celebrity in the music career. Find a small lot (maybe put in a 10x10 using create a world), and then use the family funds cheat to put their funds to $0.

    Here's some rules :)

Yup - I did the same thing. I thought "oh, I'll have her adopt a dog and send him out to look for gems/rocks etc" next thing I know her lean-to shanty with a sleeping bag had been extended to a 5 bed, 3 bath house, with almost $60k in the bank.

    Talk about rags-to-riches.

Thanks everyone! It seems like I have to take his money away all the time, hehe. Also that homeless challenge guide was really helpful.

What do you guys think of tents? I'm thinking of just placing them in 10x10 lots.

I don't have WA so I didn't use a tent, just a sleeping bag and a 2sqx3sq "lean-to" aka, a sloped roof atop four columns.

It is really easy to make money, one thing you can do is just dont play the sim, let them do their own thing and use the money they legitimately earn that way to start building. Doing it that way will take alot longer and can get quite boring to just watch. Id reccomend turning your tv on to some show you like and just let them play by themselves, maybe set some rules like youll only play them if it involves them getting lifetime happiness points or something like that.

Litterally yesterday started a sim just like me, gave him my balance which is a few bucks lol, after building him a tiny house on some land much like me, has similar traits to me and his job was basically gardening since i do landscaping. Started out buying a few pieces of lettuce and such from the store, started turning a nice profit and growing my garden huge. Now have a giant house my lot is worth more than 800k easily, got half my skills maxed out.

Did that all just by playing a little bit, money just started rolling in big time and i kinda went with it. Started making me wish it was that easy in real life. My sim of me has a few hundred grand in the bank just from roomates alone he makes 53k a week or whatever it takes for them to pay rent lol. Only brought him on roomates cause the house was huge and lonely not cause i needed the cash :p. One good sweep through tending my garden is around 50k after it all sells on consignment.
