I put on SPF 60 sunscreen in overcast weather and went for a walk. Went to Tim Hortons, and went home just as the sun started coming out.

Any plans for fireworks in your neighbourhood, Lyoufln? I live close to a huge park and I expect to hear lots of booming tonight.
I live in a tiny town, but I'm sure I'll hear some fireworks tonight. Not sure if the town's doing any or not (there's some places that'd be good for public fireworks I think around here), but I'm sure some people'll do on their own property. Never was a big fan of fireworks. Used to freak me out as a child because of the noise, and I still don't like the noise but now I just handle them by plugging my ears if I'm close by.
I think the longest conversation I had today was the lady at the Tim Hortons counter. There's like these fancy Ice Cap flavours again? (Still salty Maple's been gone for like 2-3 years). Got one made with milk instead of cream.

Hey, I've never been a huge fan of fanfare or anything. Big celebrations and stuff were never really my thing. If I was in the US, I'd be hiding at home/somewhere quiet too (even if I had the opportunity to go somewhere) You're not alone

We're under a heat advisory and all the grass is dry and dying...whole neighborhood is setting off fireworks. Waiting for someone to burn their house down.

Wow, that’s not very smart, is it? Is there a fire ban on? They do those here sometimes when it gets really hot and dry.
You are not allowed to use fireworks here most years. Even though it's dry as heck this year it seems like there isn't a ban Despite that there are organized shows with firetrucks and everything. We'll go to that... nothing has been set ablaze yet...
