Just found this story -- I've been reading your AFTER THE END and I saw that you wrote this one, so guess what I've been binging? I am only up to chapter 1.13, but have been impressed with your fresh take on a sims story. It's fantastic! I'm actually a bit curious as to why no one's posted any comments -- have the forums slowed down that much?
Regardless, thanks for keeping the stories coming!
@mypalsim1 Well, that's two stories of yours I'm caught up on and wanting more.... I could comment, as I've had plenty of them throughout my reading, but I'd rather just digest for now. I will say there were many times I wanted to
clobber Mr. Landgraab (take your pick of either) and, in some ways, I find it interesting to consider that Alice fell madly for Geoff. Often, he struck me as so insecure that I'd imagine it would have put her off entirely, yet she kept coming back to him. I get the sense that in Alice's real world, there is a lot more going on that might very well explain their being "soul mates" and having such a powerful connection. I am very curious as to how their story will end.
@SAEldarin Wow, what a wonderful thing to find this morning! I'd honestly thought nobody gave a 5#!~ and I'd keep doing it just for me. I like being wrong.
This story started as me getting 'oil in the gears' or whatever expression would be applicable after the very-long drought thanks to COVID brain. I love anime. Well, some anime. My favorites are the isekai ones, so I thought I'd give it a go. I have no idea what direction the end will take yet, tbh. *sheepish shrug* I have several ideas, some which make me want to slap myself for even considering it (live action, ugh!), but I'm almost letting the characters decide with this one, which is risky, I know.
Interesting observation there. I don't know why in my head he's that insecure, but I think I imagined what it would be like to be so much older and then trying to re-enter the dating scene. I wouldn't say he's 100% insecure, but I do see it, especially in how he interacts with Alice. I often imagine him thinking to himself 'what am I doing with her?' but then deciding to forget it after just a few moments. Then, of course, I had to have Malcolm weigh in and peck at Geoff's biggest insecurities in the whole matter. What else would an evil son do? (I'd also like to say that I had the Goths take over one story only to have the Landgraabs take another---hijacked.)
It is true that Alice is a different person in the real world. She was a lot more insecure and hesitant to start anything with anyone. I do like the powerful connection thing you picked up.
Hello, internet land!
I'm taking a break from my sims story writing to work on a novel again. I hope to come back to this because Alice is very important to me, being the one to get me out of Covid fog better than anything else I'd tried. I want to finish her story.
In the intervening time, I'll be coming up with how that's going to happen.
I hope my little break is short enough to call it a break instead of a hiatus, and I'll still continue happily reading stories.

I'll definitely look forward to reading about Alice's adventures, whenever that may be (no rush -- worth the wait).
