I know it's just a video game, but let's face it, sometimes we can get a bit attached to our Sims--what is your saddest memory? Did your favorite Sim pass away? Or did something else happen?

When I was a total newb to the game, I only played one couple. I had no idea that aging was even a thing (and was turned on by default) until they started to age up. And then the inevitable happened---the first Sim I had ever created died of old age. I was devastated! How could this happen? It wasn't until later that I realized that 1) aging can be turned off 2) she was in my library, I could bring her back any time I wanted lol Still though, it bummed me out for at least a couple of days...

Last year I had to quit playing for a day and a half irl after one of my co-founders passed away from old age because it was close to the second anniversary of my grandmother's passing. I've since started over more than once and have temporarily turned aging off for my active household while my founders are in college.

I’ve had lots of deaths but one especially sad one happened with one of my legacies. The gen 2 heir had just gotten back from the hospital with his wife after having their baby when both of his parents died of old age at the same time. They didn’t even get to meet baby.

Another memorable one was my first and only accidental death. My sim and his husband had just gotten done celebrating Winterfest with their kids. The husband was talking to their alien toddler and she told him a joke which made him hysterical since he was already in a good mood. I tried to save him but it was too late, and he died. My poor sim then had to raise their three daughters by himself. I’ve had other sims have spouses die but this one was especially sad because it was an accident and they were one of my favorite couples.

Death of the legacy matriarch. She had retired to Sulani, and gens 2 and 3 managed to be visiting when she died. "Mora Mora" came on the radio.
So often the randomness of the game makes it unrelatable--but just often enough, it feels like a little bit of magic.

My decades heir from 1900 finally moved off the farm with his new bride, and was so excited and happy he died from being hysterical before they could even woohoo and create another heir. 😑

    Oh, now that is sad.

I had a sim (I forget her name), and she was was in a relationship with Paolo Rocca. They decided to get married once they found out they were going to be parents. Shortly after the baby was born Paolo died. There was a quiet funeral, and Paolo was buried at home. Later when his son had aged up to a toddler, his mother remarried to Johnny Zest, on Winterfest (Christmas). On the same day, they were married, Johnny also killed over. Apparently, the joys of the holiday, a toddler, and a new marriage were just too much for him to handle. In case any are wondering I play on the longest life span allowed in the game.

Wow, I would rename your Sim the Black Widow … just sayin'. But that's terribly sad.

For my sims 4 game I found the death of my sim Nathaniel hard. He is my simself's son and he got a poisoned dart in the jungle. Usually the game lets my sims survive from the darts this time it did not and he died. These are the pictures of Nathaniel in his last days and his wife Lana after he died

I'm so sorry for your loss. My eldest son in RL has that name as his middle name. :)

It's always the unexpected deaths for me... Like if I had a whole story planned for my sim and they die or a family member dies unexpectedly I usually just sit in front of the screen with my mouth open and then pray I saved before it happened. Sometimes I go along with the store as is. Still sad though.

I hear you there. I was busy playing my ancestral game save (even though I put them in present time) I was still having fun. Unfortunately, my one 7th great-grandfather fried himself while fixing the broken dryer. He didn't stop and I wasn't aware he'd become dazed. I was alerted when that noise came along. I glanced at him to find him horizontal in the air with a beam of electricity dancing across his body. Dead as a doornail. This wasn't merely untimely, as I was going to have to end his life (he died in 1770 from illness) but the last two children hadn't been born. Unacceptable.
