None of us here knows for certain yet if Live In The City is real or just another rumor.

1)it was an a RATING site. 2)it was taken down so 1+2=3 NOT a rumor.
Rating sites are not confirmation sites. And therefor anything coming from them is still just a rumor. The only way that this will no longer be nothing more than a rumor is when a SimGuru comes forth, and confirms it to be a real thing.

A listing for the game does confirm its existence since the ratings board acts as a government agency for Brazil. It's even been published in a journal by the country's National Justice Secretary along with a note saying that EA sent them a copy of the pack for classification on August 10. This is pure gold.
They say it is, but the Brazilian Government is not part of Maxis or EA. So anything they say is still nothing more than a rumor. Until someone from Maxis or EA confirms it. We have remember that anything that anyone or any one body of people that's not part of Maxis or EA says about what's coming for The Sims in the future is only speculation. Also known as a rumor.

If it has been RATED...in ANY country..means it's OFFICAL with or WITHOUT word from EA. RATED=Offical. Espically not when a DEPARTMENT of that country has literally gotten their hands on the SAID EP..FROM EA..
That is just an automatic thing that they put in place just in case EA does decide to release the thing. It is not by any means a confirmation that it's real. Now the last two leaks have turned out to be true. So there's a good chance that this will end up that way too.
SimGuruDrake or any SimGuru that might be listening in on this. Could you please chime in and remind fans that this is just more speculation. Because some players are believing that this is real when it hasn't even been confirmed by a Sims Team member yet.

IF it's rated it means it HAS to be real or why else/how else could the deparment have gotten sent a copy of the EP? The only time EA EVER sends ANY country a copy of an EP of any sort is to that they can rate the actual EP
No it doesn't. Some countries rate things just in case those things do get released. And Brazil is known to do that in the past, especially for Sims related products. But it doesn't mean that it's real, at least not yet anyways. This practice of rating something before it is released or even confirmed is pretty much a pre-rating thing. Even the U.S. own ESRB use to do that, rate something before it's released or even confirmed. I have a feeling that this will get released. But at this point, it's still just speculation or rumor because no SimGuru has come forth and confirmed the thing yet.

Which is why I'm thinking that it will get released. The only thing is that we need to remember that it's still just speculation until someone from Maxis or EA confirms the thing. Only someone from Maxis or EA can confirm that The City Life EP is real. Not any of us or The Brazilian Government can confirm that.

It's real, because you can't rate anything you haven't been told of what type content, E for everyone or T for teen etc. You would need to know what type of kid friendly or mature content does this contain. You can't just make up false titles and ratings for something you would know nothing about. They don't pull these out of a hat. Somebody had to review the content or get a list of exactly what that content does and if it falls within a particular set of ratings.

ETA: All Sims games and their Packs have one thing in common other than that they all share the same name. They all have a rating for:
    Crude Humor.
    Sexual Theme.
    Violence.
The Brazilian Government knows this and is expecting that The City Life EP to be released with the same thing in it.
So that means that they can rate something before it is even confirmed.

I think it's real and they don't mind us knowing cos they realise we were feeling really down in the dumps about not having an EP for ages so they're letting us have something to talk about to cheer us all up.

Because we are still in a BUSINESS quarter..that doesn't included (EP in question. Oh and you mght want to check on your rating..since in Germany it's rated for 6+. Try to run a business before talking..

I don't need to check that because I know that each country has it's own set of rating laws. In Russia, the Russian Government has rated Sims 4 has mature. I can't speak for the Brazilian Government on that because I don't know what they rated it at. And I don't care because that's beside the point. The point of this discussion is is it real or not because the Brazilian Government has already rated it.
I believe, and want it to be real because I too have been wanting the city world back. And I even commented back before Newcrest was even released that we could be getting a city world soon. But I'm also keeping in mind that it's still a speculation at this time because no SimGuru has confirmed the EP yet. I know that some of you believe that it's real, and I'm not trying to take that away from anyone because I believe it to be real too. All I'm asking is that we all acknowledge it is an unconfirmed EP at this time, if it even is an EP at all.

    Hey @sunman502,

I'm brazilian and I can guarantee you, this is REAL / OFFICIAL but is still unannounced. The brazilian government can't rate something unless they have a copy, screenshots and/or video.
That is just an automatic thing that they put in place just in case EA does decide to release the thing. It is not by any means a confirmation that it's real.

Where do you think they get the EP's name? I think there's no simmer working on the board, rating fake packs. Please, it's the federal government of Brazil we're talking about, it's like ask to the ESRB rate packs that don't exist. Even Sony DADC (representing EA in Brazil) was caught asking they to remove the listing from their website.
No it doesn't. Some countries rate things just in case those things do get released. And Brazil is known to do that in the past, especially for Sims related products.

Again... There's no Simmer working there to create fake packs, using EA's name and everything.

That's reassuring to know because I want it to be real too.
I know that there's no one there making fake Sims games and or Packs for The Sims because in most countries that would be illegal with out permission to do so from EA first.

I think it's going to turn out to be real and I'm starting to get a little excited about it. I personally believe EA should just come out and tell us at this point. Waiting like this is silly.

Like andre1906 had said, if the Brazilian Government has a little snip it of it, say like a two or three seconds vid clip of this EP or what ever it is that's proven to be legit. That's all the proof that anyone really needs to verify that it's real because it has already been verify to be real. But how do we go about proving that none of this is made up? People do say thing that aren't true sometimes. I have said it several times already on here, and I'll say it again. I want it to be real, and I believe it to be real. But I just don't want to be disappointed again, and don't want see so many disappointed people because this thing turned out to be false hope like so many times before. So as you can see, that's why I being so skeptical about all this. I just want to make sure that this isn't someone blowing more smoke in my face. Because I really do want this city world. As I have said before, country is pretty! But I miss the city!

I just read that letter, at least the Portuguese version of it. But now I'm even more confused because I just read a comment that states that half of the Sims team members are working on a EP. I really wish that some one from Maxis would jump in here, and clear this whole mess up. Because we really need someone from Maxis clear up some things about this EP.

According to @Julyvee94 who was invited by SimGuruDrake to be one of the Sims' "Trade" Vistors yesterday-They also showed that they are often working at 5 or 6 packs at the time while 2 or 3 more are in planning. And while most of their developers work on expansion packs, the small stuff pack team seems to be the most productive. There’s also a team called “Updates & Fixes” which is new for the Sims 4 and deals only with free content updates and patches. So one EP is apparently ready and they are working on other EPs

But I miss the city!

a letter from the Government of Brazil said they were SENT the EP from American EA company.

Well that would explain a lot. Thank you for sharing that here MadameLee! :)<3

Ive said before I'm perfectly fine with a Late Night if we aren't getting no generations if they tell us this, and properly do this EP and the coming ones.

I was just looking at how cute your toddler avi is. And now I'm like, I so want toddlers back. Perhaps toddlers will be making a return in The City Life EP! One can only hope that toddlers will be returning in this EP! B)<3

I just read a letter that was in Portuguese that states that Brazilian Government have been given a copy of the EP from EA for reviewing and rating. The letter, I'm pretty sure has an Official seal of the Ministry Of Justice/ Brazil on it. So yes this Pack is now real. The Government of Brazil's Ministry Of Justice would not have sent out this letter if they have not received such EP from EA for reviewing, and rating.

If it is true (which I think it is) I am SO excited!!!! I'm hoping it'll be the best EP in the series since they've taken their time and that they have took into consideration all our ideas and that it over takes 'Late Night' and 'Nightlife' in terms of awesomeness!!!!
